After his degree, he worked as a teacher of Science in Blackheath Bluecoat C of E School, also became deputy of the department. Dr Ajeleti undertook his teacher training at Canterbury Christ Church University, obtaining Qualified Teacher Status. He received the grade ‘outstanding’ for his role as a teacher, and this was recognised by Ofsted. During this time, he was still determined to pursue a career in medicine, graduating from the Medical University of Silesia, Katowice, Poland. Dr Ajeleti graduated at the top of his class and is currently training in the London Deanery. Raised in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, Dr Ajeleti has made it his duty to encourage young people to get involved in medicine and other healthcare professions. The Findhorn Nairn and Lossie Rivers Trust continue to address the issues facing our rivers and the wildlife that depends on them. Our FNLRT Management Plan 2021 details the diverse range of projects we are planning to help conserve and restore our river catchments. Over the course of the last two centuries removal of natural forests, overgrazing and changing land use have significantly degraded the ecosystems of our rivers. Moreover, we now face a climate crisis which is causing increasing global temperatures and dramatically changing weather patterns. These factors combine to present a very serious threat to wildlife in the catchment of our rivers, particularly to salmon. This demands our urgent attention and to tackle this we are delighted to launch the Findhorn Watershed Initiative. Through this ambitious initiative we seek to bring the River Findhorn Watershed’s communities, landowners, businesses, farmers, land managers, local authorities, and educational institutions together to work at nature’s scale to sink carbon, restore habitat, and mitigate the impacts of the twin crises of climate change and biodiversity loss for future generations. These are global threats, which require large scale programs and significant funding to begin to reverse the trends. The Trust recognises that we have an important part to play to ensure that our river catchments benefit from these initiatives. To be effective, projects will need to be coordinated at a scale beyond that of individual land holdings. A natural unit for this coordination is the river catchments. We will only succeed if we work in coalition with landowners and local interests, across catchments and with partners who enable scale and additional resources to be brought to bear on these issues. We continue to work with all our friends and partners to make a difference in this important work to improve the quality of our river environments. After graduating I began a 10 year stint of experience working at Jewellery Retail sector giants Signet Group, initially working in jewellery sales and customer service, then moving into branch operations, export, marketing and merchandising via their HQ in Birmingham. From 2004-2014 I was back at the School of Jewellery Birmingham City University (BCU) as short courses/external training project manager, working with UK and International clients. Since 2015 construction & design standards Internationally have begun to be restructured with the aim of eliminating all possible factors that relate to the failure of systems applied to protect against life threatening ground gas ingress into new constructions. The spearhead of these changes was in the UK with the updated version of the British Standard for Good Practice on the Testing and Verification of Protection Systems for Buildings against Hazardous Ground Gases. BS 8485:2015+A1:2019 – this superseded all previous guidance. BS 8485:2015+A1:2019 operating alongside the CIRIA 735 code of practice ‘Independent Verification & Testing Programs’ has now been harmonised by many EU Countries. GeoShield Validation, Verification & Testing programs are currently underway across Europe including projects in the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland, Romania, Croatia, Belgium, Turkey and as far east as the Philippines. BS 8485:2015+A1:2019 sets the codes of practice which govern the installation of membrane systems designed to protect against the ingress of Methane, Carbon Dioxide and has annexes regarding Radon & VOC’s. Dependent on the various project criteria independent inspection is now often mandatory to ensure every effort is made to minimise the risk to life. GeoShield Limited are founder members of the British Verification Council and are ISO EN 9001 and ISO EN 14001 Accredited. For projects of CS2 & above (British Standards) / Amber 2 (NHBC) an Independent Testing and Verification program is required as an integral part of the project strategy. The Verification Company is usually required to be employed prior to construction. The GeoShield Verification Package is in accordance with all insistences made by the British Verification Council including £2,000,000 PI Insurance that is specific to Verification.
