I wish you a very warm welcome to our website. I am a practising teacher who has over 20 years experience in the secondary education sector, my specialist subject being science. Currently, I hold the position of Deputy Headteacher in an 11-16 secondary school with responsibility for curriculum development. Since being a senior leader, I have gained significant experience in leading whole school professional development and the quality assurance of the quality of education. I have been awarded a distinction in a master’s degree in Educational Leadership and in doing so have carried out research relating to curriculum and social justice. I strongly believe in: Creating an engaging, challenging curriculum which allows all children to flourish and achieve their potential. Providing high quality professional development which allows staff to improve performance in the classroom. An education system that empowers learners and promotes social justice. Promoting social justice is the intrinsic drive behind everything I do, and is one of the core values behind the Iridium Education philosophy. Qi Gong translates to ‘Energetic Mastery’. The practices taught are based within traditional Daoist systems of body, mind, spirit development and healing. As such these practices take a holistic view of the human being, seeking to grow all aspects of the person. The teachings are based in traditional teachings passed down through the school of ‘Lotus Nei Gong - Daoist school of the internal Arts’ and through my own internal exploration and practice.

Hi, my name is Helen Aldred, I teach Ashtanga Yoga classes in Liverpool. I have been practicing yoga for twenty one years. Prior to teaching yoga I taught for seven years in schools both in Thailand and in the UK. Throughout this time, yoga was there for me. I now combine my greatest passions yoga and teaching, and pass on to others the life-enhancing experience that yoga is for me. Helen’s Yoga Journey I first began my yoga journey in 1997 when I found a book in my schools library and began practicing. In 2005, I discovered Ashtanga Yoga, I fell in love the fluid style and love how each position connects to another. It enables me to become more engaged in what I am doing, which frees me from the usual ramblings of my mind. It has changed me, inside and out and continues to do so. I practice Ashtanga Yoga six days a week and find the dynamic style helps to focus my mind and keeps me calm in my day to day life. Yoga in India As a teacher of Yoga, I am committed to learn as much as I can about this tradition including studying yoga in India. I have been to India three times and have studied yoga and meditation whilst traveling in this diverse country.

Yogacita has been created to provide the perfect environment for practicing yoga. The warehouse space at the Old Gun Factory has been sympathetically converted , retaining much of it's original character; from the open brickwork to the immense furnace chimney that spans one corner of the studio. The communal areas are low level lit, warm and inviting with associated ambient smells for each area. By contrast, the changing rooms convey industrial chic with top of the range copper rainwater showers and full locker room facilities. Everything is provided from shampoo, conditioner and shower gel to hairdryers and straighteners so you can go straight to the office or brunch from a morning class, or out to dinner after an evening session. 2 hours free on street parking also means you can drive to class without worry. Somebody will be manning the desk from half an hour before class begins, just ring the bell and they'll let you in.

Singing and Teaching Singing Training for Performers and TeachersAbout this year’s courses We have launched a brand-new digital format for our courses this year which includes a core component workshop every month, followed by a practice group session that is designed to practically reinforce the theory learnt in the component workshop. We hope this will give you time to explore the theory behind our teaching model and to experience all its practical elements so that you can integrate these skills into your own singing and teaching more easily. By splitting the teaching model down into its component parts, we are offering participants the ability to have the full experience of one of our flagship 5-day courses but from the comfort of their own home. This is something we have been asked for previously and we are delighted to now be able to offer such flexibility. As well as a new digital format we are now offering participants who are unable to attend, for whatever reason, on the days or times below, the opportunity to have access to the full workshop or practice group recording of the live session. All you must do is book a place on the course you’d like access to and then email us to let us know that you want access to the recordings only.
