To take part, all you require is a bit of space, your mat and chosen device for example your laptop, mobile phone or tablet. If zooming using the latter two devices, you need to download zoom from your App store. Give yourself a few minutes to set up and arrange your camera in order for me to see and correct remotely.

Hello all,
Welcome to our Thursday online life drawing sessions,
This week we are joined by the brilliant Trixie who will be working with us for a live session.
We will introduce the class with a piece of text which will help our model create her first pose, whilst Trixie is posing, we invite drawers to describe the pose and what happens next. We will select a piece of writing from each pose which will be shared with you and the model, creating a new pose and a new piece of writing. When all the poses and text are arranged, we hope to have a unique and wonderful story written and illustrated by all those who take part. What&rsquo;s really exciting is the narrative and poses can lead to many creative and unique poses.

Life Drawing starts at 18:30 GMT, and all you need is the internet and something to make a mark with. I will be working with the nude model, doing several poses from short to long.
50% of the takings will go to the model so we really would love for you to share to make sure each model is well looked after while work is tough to come by right now, so each session will be worth a few jobs for every model, so the more, the merrier.

Portrait Club!

This event is designed to be an annual update to your clinical coaching role. We will provide you with the latest news, and any changes and be on hand to answer any of your coaching queries. The main part of the evening will be led by Ruth Wootton, founder of Momentwn Consulting. Ruth will be talking about how to adapt your coaching to encourage independent learners.&nbsp;Learners are becoming more reliant on information being provided for them and then feeling lost when they move from student to RVN. We would like to help you encourage these learners to become independent during their training so that they can research and find our information themselves ready for their professional careers.Attendance is free if you are an Abbeydale primary centre or if you have an Abbeydale student. Hil and Juliet will be focussing on some of the queries and issues they see when reviewing the Central Skills Log; these include preparing students for nursing consultations, intruding quality assurance into the student's role within the practice, the difference between care plans and care bundles plus the use of expert witnesses.

The Academy provides a list of Private and NHS Dental Surgeries, who are regularly contacting us when looking for more Trainee Dental Nurses, so you can contact them directly as a registered student at the Academy. This is a paid job, unless you would like to work voluntary for personal reasons. We also provide a reference letter to the employee in case you need it.

The curriculum is based on the GDC (General Dental Council) registration requirements for dental nurses. These are set out in terms of professional competencies, with the assessment method clearly outlined (e.g. how the skills and knowledge will be assessed in the final examinations – via written questions such as multiple choice (MCQ) or extended matching questions (EMQ) or via Objective Structured Clinical Examinations – OSCEs). When are the exams?
There are two exams:
1. Multiple choice theory exam. November and March.
2. Practical exam. January and June. 
Record of Experience (eROE)
To be eligible to sit your first exam, you have to complete your electronic Record of Experience (eROE). The eROE has to be submitted to your tutor by 31st Jan for March exam, and 31st August for November exam.

How do I attend?

EITHER -
CLASSROOM OPTION - Attend one of our scheduled classroom locations, completing your Introduction to Phlebotomy Course over 2 days. You will also complete your Advanced Training at the end of the first day and your Competency Training at the end of the second day.

Our Introduction to Phlebotomy and Advanced Phlebotomy Training Kits are supplied at no charge when booking our virtual classroom training option.
If you would like to add one or both of these kits to your classroom training option then these are available to add at time of booking. Our comprehensive training kits each mirror the same equipment and supplies used in the classroom and both include detailed video tutorials, allowing you to continue to practice and "hone" your skills after you have completed your practical training.

VIRTUAL CLASSROOM OPTION- Complete your theory training online at home or work, then join us for a one day Zoom session to complete your Introduction to Phlebotomy virtual classroom training, followed by your Advanced Training in the evening of the same day. You have the option to add a classroom-based competency session, awarding a CPD Accredited Geopace Certificate of Competency, at time of booking.

Our Virtual Classroom option includes two very comprehensive training kits - one for your introductory course and one for your advanced course. Kits are included at no charge (normally £79.95 each) and are yours to keep and to continue to practice with after you have finished your courses.
