Course Description The RQF Level 1 Awareness of Safeguarding course is designed to provide individuals with a basic understanding of safeguarding principles and practices. Understanding the specific safeguarding concerns and considerations for each group. Reporting and Responding to Safeguarding Concerns: Procedures for reporting safeguarding concerns or disclosures. Understanding the importance of maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information appropriately. Responding to safeguarding concerns in a timely and appropriate manner. Promoting Safeguarding and Preventing Abuse: Strategies for promoting a safe and inclusive environment. Recognizing potential risk factors and implementing preventative measures. Understanding the importance of creating a culture of safeguarding within organizations. Multi-Agency Collaboration: Collaboration between different agencies and organisations involved in safeguarding, such as social services, law enforcement, and healthcare. Sharing information and working together to ensure effective safeguarding practices. Case Studies and Scenarios: Reviewing case studies and scenarios to apply safeguarding principles and practices. Analysing potential safeguarding dilemmas and decision-making processes. Personal Responsibilities: Recognising personal boundaries and limitations when working with vulnerable individuals. Understanding the importance of self-care and managing emotional well-being when dealing with safeguarding issues. It is important to ensure that the course meets local safeguarding guidelines and requirements.

All day, in-person workshop with Gina Barrett! Interested in Dorset buttons? Perhaps you'd like to try the Zwirnknopf styles? This workshop will take you through different types of thread buttons made over a ring. Thread buttons have a long history and are really versatile for garments, embellishments and home decor projects. Suitable for beginners The workshop venue is Corby Glen Church Street Rooms in Lincolnshire (NG33 4NJ). The venue is just off the A1. Times: 10am-3pm. Refreshments (cake, tea/coffee) will be provided - but please bring your own lunch. All materials for the day will also be supplied; however, please bring your own small scissors. And remember your glasses if you need them for close-up work! Spaces are limited. About Gina Gina is a textile artist, designer & writer with a passion for historical passementerie - especially buttons! She now provides bespoke items to costumiers for film, theatre, museums and fashion, and continues to research and to write about both old techniques and developing new ones. She is particularly keen to discover the lost techniques used to create buttons, which of course means steadily building a collection to learn from. F Gas Regulations training courses are designed for both experienced air-conditioning and refrigeration engineers and also candidates who are looking to cross train and gain qualifications in the air conditioning / refrigeration sector. This F Gas regulations qualification is to meet the legal requirements of EC Regulation 842/2006 (commonly known as the F Gas Regulations). The Certification Schemes are designed for operatives who install, service and repair refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat pump systems, and require the following skills: Safe handling of refrigerant techniques Pipework and Jointing skills Recovery of Refrigerants (restricted to small systems only) Intrusive and non-intrusive leak and performance checking Category 1 covers all aspects of installation, commissioning, servicing, maintenance, recovery and leak checking on all refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat pump systems in accordance with the F-Gas Regulation EC842/2006, regardless of the weight of refrigerant in the system. F Gas regulations Course subjects are: Pressure test and discharge to BSEN378 Charge a blended refrigerant Evaluate system performance to ensure competence (using rule of thumb, temperature, refrigerant state and pressure) Leak test to EC1516/2007 Fabricate and fit brazed and mechanical joints Uphold F-Gas records and log books. Handle refrigerant safely and dispose of rightfully Pressure Regulation compliance All candidates will be able to ensure systems are tight, efficient in their use of energy and meet the F-Gas legal requirement.
