This course outlines exactly what constitutes manual handling and covers the regulations and legislation that apply to manual handling tasks. It then goes on to cover safe handling techniques and how to develop good habits in relation to manual handling. It finishes off by introducing some practical solutions and the use of mechanical aids. Recognise safe handling techniques and be able to develop good habits. Evaluate every manual situation you encounter, recognising risks and when to use mechanical aids. This manual handling course is for businesses who have workers who are exposed to the dangers of manual handling. This course will fulfil requirements set out by the HSE to train staff on how to correctly handle items whilst lifting, pushing and pulling.

The GWO Manual Handling course is a half day as either initial or refresher training.

This one-day course is a must for all construction operatives! The Construction Design & Management Regulations 2015 (CDM) sets the requirement for all workers to have the right skills, knowledge, training, and experience. The term is used to describe activities such as lifting, lowering, pushing, pulling, carrying, moving, holding or restraining an object or person. It also covers activities that require the use of force or effort such as pulling a lever or operating power tools. The aim of the course is to provide a theoretical knowledge and the practical skills to recognise the risk of unsafe practices.

This course will enable candidates to understand how to improve their handling techniques to avoid injury so it is particularly suited for those starting a new job, returning to work or who need specific manual handling training.
