Whether they’re needed on a night out or on a film set, this specially tailored session will enable you to get to grips quickly with techniques and practice to help in an emergency. DATE: Wednesday 29th January TIME: 4pm LOCATION: Studio A ‘Film History’ kicks off this month with a favourite classic of both Stephen Spielberg and the Coen Brothers; Sullivan's Travels tells the story of a Hollywood movie director who, in pursuit of absolute truth and accuracy, makes himself homeless in order to better tell a story of life from the wrong side of the tracks. Whether you're an aspiring actor or a seasoned slammer, this is your chance to shine. Step onto the stage and captivate the audience with your best monologue, in a high-energy competition that celebrates creativity and passion. You are welcome to use any monologue from a film, play, TV series, or else even write your own! Everyone who enters can have their performance filmed and receive a copy of their work, and there will be a CASH PRIZE for the performer voted Number One! Date: Thursday 28th September Time: 4pm Location: Studio A - Landor Road Event Details: Richard Hewitt is a film producer, who has previously worked in the industry as a 1st AD and Production Manager over the last few decades. He has kindly agreed to visit CFS to discuss hiss experiences in these roles, whilst shining a light on the different types of producers and their responsibilities. He has produced many well known and respected movies, including: - Bohemian Rhapsody - The Theory of Everything - Never Let Me Go - The Aeronauts The session will wrap with a wider Q+A session at the end. This is a free event that all students are welcome to attend. Be sure to book tickets in advance though so that you don't miss out!

This is a great opportunity to see the exciting work produced by yourselves and other students on the big screen, whilst also meeting new and talented people you can work with in the future.Event Details: There's a real range of films to see, from insightful documentaries, to extraordinary flights of fantasy, to wonderful experimental storytelling. Beginning his career writing for Doctor Who Magazine in 1995, he got his big break when he became a screen writer for the Channel 4 series Queer as Folk.
