All our classes are friendly, technical, inclusive and open to all levels especially beginners! If you feel like you aren’t experienced enough to join class, please don’t worry ! There will always be a higher belt to help you go through new moves and sequences or someone ready to explain what BJJ and Capoeira is all about and to answer all your questions. This workshop will explore artist-led practice in Edinburgh and feature an open discussion between Sierra Metro (Edinburgh) and Sett Studios (Edinburgh). Artist and researcher Chris Biddlecombe will also provide an overview of the key findings from the ‘Artist-Led Organisations in Scotland: Survey and Mapping of Activity’ research report which has been undertaken by Scottish Artists Union on behalf of Creative Scotland. About Sierra Metro is a gallery committed to artist-centred practice and our intention is to showcase and support emerging and mid-career visual artists and designers. We aim to engender a climate of flexibility and experimentation for everyone who exhibits with us, and offer broad public access to contemporary art experiences and discussions. Established in 2008 we curated a vibrant cross discipline arts programme until 2012 at Ground Floor North, The Lighthouse, 22 West Harbour Road. After a period of hibernation, we have reopened in our new Leith location on Ferry Road.  Sett Studios is an artist-run studios with dedicated gallery space in Leith, Edinburgh. Run for artists, by artists. Providing an accessible and safe space, with a particular focus on supporting those from socially and financially disadvantaged backgrounds. Working to foster allyship, make art accessible, and uplift marginalised voices. Using a range of music from the latest pop songs, learning fun choreography! TRIAL BOOKINGS: Of course you are welcome to watch the trial class but following the trial, WhizzDancers are expected to be independent in the room. TERM BOOKINGS: You are welcome to watch the first class but following this your WhizzDancer will be expected to go in the class independently. You will be expected to provide full uniform. Details will be sent following. We have lots of opportunities ahead for your WhizzDancer including exams and shows. Suitable for complete beginners Age 15 plus Join Lynne from Pots of Magic to create your own ceramic Greenman plaque . During this 3 hour workshop you will be guided through each section using basic hand building and sculpting techniques . During the first 90 minutes you will sculpt and form the face ,with the opportunity to create your own unique character . There will then be a teabreak before you add the foliage to your Greenman Foliage will be provided however if you wish to personalise your plaque using leaves from your own garden please do not hesitate to do so . (Please note leaves are rolled into the clay to leave an imprint then cut out .therefore leaves with veins give best results ) Once finished your clay creation will dry out slowly for 2 weeks before under going its first kiln firing . Once bisque fired it will then be professionally glazed by Lynne and enter the kiln again for its final firing . Your final piece will be ready for collection 4 to 5 weeks later from Ainsdale . Advanced: Next level jamming ideas for next level players - where we jam advanced level songs (songs requiring barre chords, 7ths, m7th, maj7th, 9th, m9th, sus chords, lead work and complex rhythms) broken down and rebuilt ahead of an end of term performance in front of a live audience. Highly recommended for the player with some time to practice. Working towards a performance event in front of your friends and family and other members of The Guitar Social community on Saturday 17th June An Advanced level player feels like you’ve got it. You’re looking for a challenge and can pick up and adjust to new ideas quickly.

Intermediates: Bedroom player to bar room rockstar - where we jam intermediate level songs with the barre chord, scale, improvisation, theory and chord extension learning snuck into the jamming fun An intermediate player can play E type barre chords and perhaps some/all A type positions. You can play a few scales and have been using them either to improvise or play solos, licks and riffs. Your knowledge of the fretboard is good
