The Emergency Fist Aid at Work is an accredited 1 day, instructor led course in a fully equipped training room. We use a mixture of training methods such as hands on activities, role play, group discussion, games and the use of equipment / technology to cover the different learning styles of the individual. All learners will have the skills and knowledge to provide the organisation with Emergency First Aider’s that can provide treatment to their casualties in a prompt, safe and effective manner. A range of subjects are covered including:- • Responsibilities and reporting • Resuscitation and AED awareness • Burns • Assessment of the situation • Anatomy • Choking • Dealing with an unresponsive casualty • Minor injuries • Epilepsy • Basic hygiene in First Aid • Bleeding control • Shock Certification Practical assessment is ongoing by the instructor, and a three year qualification will be issued to those who satisfy the criteria. In addition, the HSE strongly recommend that all students undergo an annual refresher programme of three hours. Instructions Please can learners ensure they wear trousers and a full shoe. Learners need to be physically fit and well to undertake the activities for First Aid Training, which requires learners to carryout CPR on the floor. We have baby and child infant choking models and an adult choking vest. Save their lives! Bandage a wound, apply a sling, treat someone for shock? That can be done. Want to know more about Heart Attacks or Strokes? Just let us know. Know the theory about an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), but haven’t had the chance to actually use one? Now you can. We run Annual Refresher courses, which is a properly accredited certification awarded by Qualsafe Awards. These are recommended on a yearly basis. In between that, it is still good to keep one's skills and knowledge up to date. Our special First Aid Skills Practice Sessions give you the chance to refresh your theory and/or practical skills. Whichever subjects you would like to work on. An experienced trainer will be at hand to show and explain. NOWHERE ELSE DO YOU HAVE THE CHANCE TO DO THIS! CPD Accredited: These sessions are non-Ofqual regulated. However, they are taught by our trainer, who is an accredited first aid trainer via Qualsafe Awards, First Aid Awards Ltd and Highfields Qualifications. You'll get accredited quality either way! These sessions are CPD Accredited, so you'll get 1.5 CPD hours with this training. If you'd like to do a nationally accredited course instead, we'd like to recommend you do our First Aid at Work Annual Refresher, Emergency First Aid at Work, First Aid at Work or Basic Life Support for Adults and Children course.

The Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) qualification is designed for individuals who wish to act as an emergency first aider in their workplace. Upon successful completion of this qualification, candidates will be equipped with the essential skills needed to give safe, prompt and effective first aid in emergency situations. As a regulated qualification, employers can book this course for their employees and rest assured that they have fulfilled their legal responsibilities for providing quality first aid training, without having to undertake any lengthy due diligence checks.

The one-day Emergency First Aid at Work qualification will teach you how to deal with emergency situations, administer general first aid treatment and is designed for people who wish to be appointed as a designated first aider in the workplace. The course is ideal for those that are required to hold a first aid qualification but don’t require the more comprehensive First Aid at Work qualification, and covers all the main workplace first aid situations you may need to deal with, including: managing an unresponsive casualty, CPR, choking, shock, bleeding and wounds, along with other minor injuries.

Course Information Who should attend? This course is for people who do not hold a Level 3 First Aid at Work certificate or for those with expired certificates. My certificate has expired! The HSE recommends you attend the full 3 day First Aid at Work/ blended Level 3 First Aid at Work (RQF) if more than a month has passed since expiry of you certificate.  Course delivery Blended learning – Online (theory) combined with practical training (classroom) Online 6 hours of theory training based around the theory elements of the course. This can be undertaken at your own pace and must be completed within six weeks of the practical element training session. **Online training must be completed before attending the classroom session.  Classroom Training 2 days of classroom training led by a professional instructor to cover the practical elements of the course and final test. Course Details The Hot Lay unit is an additional charge so please add this as part of your 'package'. NRSWA Streetworks Operative The NRSWA operative course is for anyone who wants to undertake physical work on roads within the UK. Including excavation, back-fill, reinstatement, signing, guarding and using tarmac and cold-lay materials. NRSWA Streetworks Supervisor The NRSWA streetworks supervisor training is for people moving in to a supervisor role. A streetworks supervisor is only allowed to monitor the activities of a streetworks operative and cannot undertake any physical work. On every live site, for operatives to carry out work there must legally be a streetworks supervisor present. Please note: a person can have both the operative and supervisor qualifications which will allow them to supervise and carry out physical operative work at the same time. Previous experience of working on street works or on roads would assist the candidates but it is not essential.

PACE was developed by Dr Dan Hughes (a clinical psychologist specialising in childhood trauma) more than 20 years ago as a central part of attachment-focused family therapy. It was created with the aim of supporting adults to build safe, trusting and meaningful relationships with children and young people who have experienced trauma. The approach focuses on building trusting relationships, emotional connections, containment of emotions and a sense of security.  PACE is a way of thinking, feeling, communicating and behaving that aims to make the child feel safe. Its four principles of communication – Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy – facilitate the building of healthy, secure attachments between caregiver and child. PACE parenting is especially effective for supporting children that lack secure emotional bases. It is ideal for anyone working or living with children, especially those children in the care system Who is this course for? Anyone working with or living with children and young people. Like foster carers, adopting parents, residential carers, social workers but would also benefit parents experiencing difficulties. What will it cost?
