This course is suited to those who are involved in the planning, provision, and assistance of meals for those in care. It provides a solid insight into the basics of good nutrition as well as providing practical guidance for how to put these into practice within a care setting. Learners will also look briefly at Food Hygiene. This subject forms standard 8 in The Care Certificate.

Safer recruitment is designed to help those who are responsible for employing anyone who works with vulnerable groups, to identify and deter or reject individuals who are deemed to be at risk of abusing. It is crucial that all employers have a recruitment policy in place that takes into account safer recruitment best practices and considerations. This course covers key topics including: advertising, application forms, selecting candidates for interview based on the information they have presented, and post-interview checks - including DBS checks - before making an offer of employment. Recruitment of staff is now a complex process and there are many issues that need to be considered to ensure safe and successful recruitment, to reduce in turn the risk of harm, abuse and neglect of adults and children.

This course is particularly relevant for those wishing to tow a horsebox or caravan and those involved in construction. Car / Jeep and Trailer (Category B+E) training is available as a three day course, with an average training time of some six to eight hours, depending upon driving experience.

This course will help you to gain a better knowledge of the policy which underpins end of life care. It will help you to learn about the delivery of great end of life care and improve your communication skills to strengthen working relationships during this period. During the 'own my life' sessions. We will explore the culture of abuse and violence, misogyny and disrespect in relationships. 'Own my life' is a 11-12 week programme that looks at healthy vs unhealthy and abusive relationships. The course explores how women can regain ownership of our lives following abuse including finding and owning our mind, body, choices, relationships, world, feelings. We will explore the culture of abuse and violence, misogyny and disrespect in relationships. We will use lots of resources to make it fun and informative and we will have lots of time for discussion. All women who attend will be given an 'Own My life' Journal which provides space for reflective practice and includes all the information provided throughout the course. -Suitable for women in abusive relationships or after they leave/ perpetrator is removed. Sessions are held weekly at the Sherwood community centre and are run by experienced, friendly and welcoming facilitators.
