This comprehensive 2-day introductory course combines class-based teaching of essential theory in phlebotomy and practical blood-taking skills using simulated limbs. Our expert trainers will lead interactive presentations covering the requisite technical and scientific knowledge for practicing phlebotomy, after which you will spend a day developing your practical blood-drawing skills on simulated limbs. On completing this course, you will receive the UK-accredited Level 3 Certificate and be ready to progress to our Live Bloods Clinic Sessions (Part 2). Entry Requirements None, though all teaching is delivered in English. In this class we are doing the Wu style Competition Routine. This is a 45-move set of movements using all the features that make Wu style tai chi different to other styles of tai chi. We also do a set of Qigong exercises in this class. This is a 13-week term.

This is a 13-week term. * Notes on 2-Person Classes Both the Tuesday 8.05pm class in Euston, and the Saturday courses in Westminster will focus on:  Learning how to relax  The use of the movements in Tai Chi Form (applications)  Applying the movements so that you maintain your own integrity (centre of balance)  Finding & working from the centre/core/Dantian  Developing the sense of ‘feel’ when working with someone else  Connecting your centre to your hands  Turning a partner’s energy around so as to unbalance him/her  We will also work on a 2-Person Tai Chi Form in order to understand applications of moves Posture, Balance, and Intention. By far the most important part of these classes is developing the ability to sense and be aware not only of one's own posture, balance, and intention, but also that of another person. Relaxation. Many of the exercises are ultimately about the ability to act from a very relaxed body and mind, so that (for example) if someone pushes towards you, you don't 'lock up' (the instinctive reaction), but instead you sense the push, and divert it. Initially it is this 'locking up' (which in effect makes you unable to move), that we are working on undoing. This is about getting more control of your sympathetic nervous system (fight & flight), the 'stress' system, so that in difficult situations, you 'roll with the punches' better.

This class focuses on the 42-Step Tai Chi Competition Form. This set of movements is a mixture of different 'styles' of Tai Chi - Yang, Wu, Sun, & Chen styles. This is a 13-week term.

Level 2 HACCP Training Courses

DATE: Friday 2nd February TIME: 4pm (meeting at school reception) BOOKING DEADLINE: Noon on 19th January On Friday 2nd February, we will have a school visit to the British Museum, the first of several extra-curricular trips we are looking to arrange in the coming terms. Whilst some of these trips will have a focus on Film & Television, others will be about other general interests, giving you a chance to get to know London and its rich cultural offerings. This trip to the British Museum will include a tour of various significant relics from across the world and human history, organised and led by Conrad, our Student Services Officer. Ideal for both first-timers and those that have been before and want to learn a bit more. We will meet in the School Reception at 3:50pm that day and then head over together at 4 o'clock. It is direct on the Northern Line and then a short walk to the museum. Once inside you are free to take the tour we have organised or explore on your own should you wish. Once the tour is complete people are welcome to stick around and explore more, have relaxed drinks in a nearby pub or head home, whatever you prefer. ONE TICKET PER PERSON, PLEASE DO NOT BOOK MORE THAN ONCE ONTO THIS EVENT. ONLY BOOK IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON ATTENDING. IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO MAKE IT, PLEASE LET US KNOW.
