This course enables learners to logically and clearly work through the risk management process, from being aware of the relevant legislation, identifying hazards, assessing risk and onwards through risk reduction, balancing risk against individual choice, and the importance of recording keeping. It aims to increase learner awareness of both their responsibility and their organisation's responsibility, for meeting industry standards and keeping service users, staff, and workplaces safe.

The IMI Roadside Safety programme is a blended learning course consisting of an online learning package followed by a face to face training and assessment session. The course is aimed at Truck and Light Vehicle Tyre Technicians involved with working on the roadside and whilst not essential, we advise that candidates should have completed a recognised course in Heavy or Light Vehicle Tyre Fitting and possess good communication skills. The objective is to enable the candidates to identify the risks posed by legionella bacteria and understand how to manage the risks in domestic water systems, to a standard which minimises the risk of exposure and ill health.
