Together we’ll spend the day learning the different techniques and ways of weaving to get the best from this natural material, creating a fat ball feeder to delight the birds in your garden. These feeders are a great way to watch the birds as they find all kinds of ways to enjoy their tasty treat, suitable for small and large birds to feed together, this is a workshop that definitely brings joy to your garden. This qualification is aimed at learners who wish to become first-aiders in the workplace. This qualification meets the requirements for training first-aiders in those organisations that have identified that staff need to be trained to this level within their first-aid needs assessment as required by the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 legislation.

This course is for people who are often the first to respond to a possible medical emergency. This encompasses Police, Firefighters, and medical staff at festivals and events. It also includes Emergency/Community First Responders, Door Supervisors, Close Protection Operatives, and Security Guards. Individuals working in high-risk environments are also catered for. These environments include the military, power stations, agriculture, and manufacturing facilities.
Many people are interested in keeping chickens, but there is a lot of conflicting information. I have been keeping poultry for many years, and can help and advise on housing, breeds, brooding, cockerels, and feeding. Come along to my course to learn how best to keep your garden chooks happy and healthy. Topics covered include: Fox-proof coops and runs Sourcing your hens Handling your hens The importance of free ranging, and avian flu alternatives Feeding and healthy treats Eggs and breeding Cockerels and chicks What to do with chicken manure Pests, diseases, and natural supplements Quick discussion about ducks, quail, and geese This course is run at a mutually agreed date and time, and costs £35 per person, or £60 for two booking at the same time. We will spend most of the time looking at the hens in my garden, and there will be a handout with all the information we discuss as well as plenty of opportunity to ask questions. We will have fresh tea, cafetière coffee, herbal tea, and homemade cake during the break. Courses run from 2-3.30pm at my cottage in Hellingly.
