Endorsed by The Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care – The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and fulfilling the competencies set out in the PHEM skills framework at descriptor level D, this fantastic qualification is perfect for a range of roles in emergency care, such as: Ambulance Care Assistant (PTS), Community First Responder or Event First Responder and more. Learners must be at least 17 years old on the first day of training. There are no other formal entry requirements but to benefit from the learning we advise that Learners have a minimum of Level 2 in literacy or equivalent and a basic understanding of first aid. This qualification is for people who have a specific responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities to provide prehospital care to patients requiring emergency care/treatment. Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work EFAW 1 Day Course is a Level 3 RQF Award and makes anyone who completes it a formally qualified emergency first aider. This course is Ofqual Accredited. If your first aid needs assessment stipulates that you need a qualified emergency first aider in the workplace, then this course provides all of the training required along with a nationally recognised certificate which is valid for 3 years. 3 Day First Aid Description: The full 3-day First Aid at Work Qualification is nationally recognised. It meets the standards required to help comply with Health and Safety (First aid) regulations. This qualification is valid for three year, after which delegates need to complete a 2-day refresher course. Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation and care of the unconscious requires physical effort. Learners should be capable of working with casualties at floor level. Learners receive a First Aid at Work guide book, a training dressing and a CPR barrier protection device. The HSE strongly recommend that all First Aiders undertake annual refresher training of at least 3 hours per year. The 1 Day Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work RQF qualification is tailored for smaller workplaces and for staff who work in low hazard environments. This 6 hour course is designed to train candidates in both theoretical and practical aspects of First Aid to the standard required by the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

This qualification is suitable for those aged 16 and above who work with, or care for, children.

The First Aid at Work (FAW) is the highest and most widely recognised first aid qualification.
