Join artist Julie Galante for an afternoon of homemade botanical inks made from foraged plants and kitchen scraps. In 2023 Julie dove into ink-making, producing more than 300 inks from over 100 different botanical sources. In this three-hour workshop, Julie will share what she’s learned from all these inky experiments, giving you the skills and knowledge to create your own library of botanical colours. She'll share her core learnings, including the best ways to extract colours, the best plants to use, and how to preserve and store your inks. We'll also cover different ways of finishing your inks depending on how you'd like to use them. Please note this workshop will take place in Julie's Stockbridge studio, which is accessible via three flights of stairs. We will also spend part of the workshop foraging outside, weather permitting, so please dress accordingly. Tea and coffee will be provided.

We run Annual Refresher courses, which is a properly accredited certification awarded by Qualsafe Awards. These are recommended on a yearly basis. In between that, it is still good to keep one's skills and knowledge up to date. Our special First Aid Skills Practice Sessions give you the chance to refresh your theory and/or practical skills. Whichever subjects you would like to work on. An experienced trainer will be at hand to show and explain. NOWHERE ELSE DO YOU HAVE THE CHANCE TO DO THIS! CPD Accredited: These sessions are non-Ofqual regulated. However, they are taught by our trainer, who is an accredited first aid trainer via Qualsafe Awards, First Aid Awards Ltd and Highfields Qualifications. You'll get accredited quality either way! These sessions are CPD Accredited, so you'll get 1.5 CPD hours with this training. Learn how to test portable electrical appliances with a qualification in Electrical Equipment Maintenance and Testing aimed at new starters to the testing of portable electrical equipment with minimal electrical knowledge. This qualification is aimed at those with responsibilities for the maintenance of electrical equipment and for those undertaking practical inspection and testing of electrical equipment. It allows those with the responsibility for the testing and inspection of electrical equipment to gain a qualification suitable to their job role. The qualification allows candidates to learn, develop and practise the skills required to inspect and test items of electrical equipment in line with the latest edition of the Code of Practice for In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment. Learners completing the qualification will have the ability to carry out mandatory responsibilities within the workplace depending on their prior electrical knowledge This level will suit you if you are looking to become involved in, the inspection and testing of electrical equipment. To successfully complete the qualification learners will have to sit an Evolve on-line test comprising of a 50 MCQ and a practical assignment. The practical consists of 3 tasks which are: Task 1 is inspect and test Class I equipment, Task 2 is inspect and test Class II equipment (this will be either unearthed metal or without unearthed metal or Class II FE – Learners will not need to do all 3 of these, they only need to do one type), Task 3 is completing the record forms

The first 10 days of the Total Air Conditioning and Refrigeration training course are mechanical only, the following 5 or 10 days are the electrical aspects, depending on which route you need to go down. The Total Air Conditioning and Refrigeration training courses are accredited with the City & Guilds 2079, BESA Pipework and Brazing – (commercial), along with an EAL Unit* – Maintenance of Refrigeration Systems from the EAL Certificate in Engineering Technology (QCF) qualification. (*Practical elements will be covered during the course with a Project booklet to be completed by the student with an element of self-study after the course completion for us to claim the Unit certification from EAL).
