How to combine dry needling into your treatments to develop a comprehensive approach and awareness when to use

Supraspinatus, Infraspinatus, Subscapularis, Teres Minor, Deltoids
Thoracic and Lumbar Erector Spinae

On this, 3 hour or 5 hour introduction to macram&eacute; workshop with Edinburgh artist Lucy Wayman, you get the opportunity to work on longer projects.&nbsp;You can choose to create a plant or pot hanger, or stay on to work on a more larger macram&eacute; project, such as a double plant hanger, wall hanging or bag.&nbsp;
The workshop will start with the basic principles and techniques of macram&eacute;, allowing you to build your confidence by creating small projects such as a key ring, before moving on to designing and creating your plant hanger, bespoke wall hanging, or bag.
Once you feel more confident, you will learn how to calculate rope lengths and plan designs to create your chosen hand-crafted macram&eacute; project&nbsp;using 100% cotton rope and a selection of coloured twines. A helpful instruction manual will be provided to guide you through your project.If you opt for the plant hanger project your workshop will finish after 3 hours. The longer wall hanging and bag projects last for an extra 2 hours, i.e. a 5 hour workshop.
This three-in-one workshop gives extra time for people who feel confident with the basics to challenge themselves with more elaborate designs under Lucy&#39;s guidance.

Spaces on our workshops and courses are limited so that our creative team of artists and makers can offer you the hands-on help and support you need to make the most of your time with us. 
Our taster and introductory workshops focus on teaching creative skills and methods you can continue practising at home, using affordable materials and equipment. Where more expensive equipment is required we will mention this in the workshop description.
All the equipment and materials you need are included in the price, unless stated otherwise. 
Light refreshments from local suppliers are provided. On full day workshops you are welcome to bring your own lunch to eat inside or out. There is also a wide range of independent sit-in or takeaway delis, cafés, and restaurants, plus a range of supermarkets all within a 5-10 minute walk.
Accessibility
The workshop space is on the first-floor of our Georgian mews home and unfortunately we do not have lift access. Blue badge holders can park outside our front door on the single yellow line by arrangement.

The workshop space is in our open plan living space and is not nut free. Please let us know about any skin or food allergies before booking. We offer a dairy-free milk and gluten free snack alternative.
Minimum number no refund policy
To ensure we can always pay our creatives a fair fee, we require a minimum number of bookings for each workshop and for this reason bookings are non-refundable. Should we have to cancel due to low numbers, we will offer you the option to swap to an alternative date or workshop, or to request a refund.
We do our very best to avoid cancellations. Since we often get late bookings, we keep our workshops on sale for as long as possible. We realise that some of you travel from afar, so if you book a space and have not yet received an email confirming your workshop is going ahead and need to make plans for your trip, please get in touch before booking any travel or accommodation so we can update you on booking numbers. You will take home a finished item at the end of the session and I will keep you motivated with tea and cake!&nbsp;

Come and join Hannah at Stitching Kitchen for an introduction to the fascinating alchemy that is wet felting. Starting with wool fibres in a wide range of colours, you will have fun creating a piece of felt – which could be a picture or completely abstract. The finished fabric will be suitable to stitch into or ready to simply hang on the wall. 




What you will learn/achieve

The skills you need to be a successful felter
How to select the fibres, layer them in the right way and then wet the wool and encourage it to knit together
Once the initial wool tangling has been achieved, it is then onto the felting proper. Wet felting does take a bit of physical energy on your part but it is great fun and is worth the effort
You will take home a finished item at the end of the session

Use of felting tools in the Stitching Kitchen studio on the day.

Welcome to the world of Crochet with this great beginner project the Granny Square. &nbsp;During this two and a half hour session Sonia will teach you the basics of Crochet. &nbsp;Sonia will demonstrate how to hold your yarn and hook and how to do the stitches, she will then be on hand through out the workshop to help you create your first granny square.Most people finish during the workshop or get several rounds done, the full instructions are provided so you can finish off or make more at home. &nbsp;Sonia is not only an expert with a hook she is also a calm and patient tutor. &nbsp;You will receive yarn and a hook (worth &pound;1.75) to take home, full tuition and refreshments.&nbsp;

Description
Come and learn a series of hand embroidery stitches while surrounding yourself in the creative inspiration which is Stitching Kitchen.  Hannah has been doing hand embroidery since childhood and loves to share her skills.  During this 3 hour workshop we will cover the fundamentals of hand embroidery and get you started with this versatile craft.

Choices of fabric, to hoop or not to hoop
How to create stitches - we will cover running stitch, back stitch, stem stitch, chain stitch, satin stitch, fly and feather stitch
We may also have time to look at a range of other stitches including blanket stitch, french knots, couching

About your tutor
Hannah is a lifelong crafter who has been practicing hand embroidery since childhood.  She is a member of the Embroiderers Guild and regularly exhibits with the Guild at National stitch events such as the Knit and Stitch show.  She has found hand embroidery a key part of supporting her mental health and hopes that in sharing this craft she can support others in this mindful practice.

Master plant tinctures are sacred, natural extracts derived from powerful Amazonian plants, each carrying unique healing properties.

Instructions:
1. Dosage & Absorption
Empty Stomach for Optimal Absorption: Take your tincture on an empty stomach, ideally at least 30 minutes before eating or 2 hours after your last meal. This enhances absorption and allows the plant’s energy to work more directly. You may want to start with a 5 drops a day working up depending on your sensitivity (up to a maximum of 20 drops per day) 
Sublingual Method (Under the Tongue): Place the recommended number of drops directly under your tongue and hold them there for about 1-2 minutes before swallowing. This method allows the plant’s essence to enter your bloodstream more quickly and efficiently.
Swallowing & Following with Water: If needed, you can follow with a sip of water or herbal tea, but avoid strong flavours that might interfere with the plant’s subtle energy.
2. Dietary Considerations
Avoid heavy, overly processed, or highly stimulating foods (e.g., caffeine, sugar, alcohol, or spicy foods) before and after taking the tincture, as they may interfere with the plant’s effects.
Simple, grounding meals such as lightly cooked vegetables, whole grains, and herbal teas, support a clearer connection to the plant.
If fasting or eating lightly while working with the tincture, listen to your body’s signals and adjust as needed.
3. Setting an Intention
Focused Approach: Working with one plant tincture for 1-2 weeks with a clear intention allows for a deeper relationship with the plant’s wisdom. Reflect on what you’re calling in whether it’s emotional healing, clarity, protection, or insight.

Daisy Chandley joined PFD in 2019 after graduating from the University of Oxford with a BA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics. She is an Associate Agent and assistant to Senior Agent Annabel Merullo and Head of Books Tim Bates as the UK sub-agent for New Directions Publishing in the US. LOOKING FOR: ADULT FICTION, NON-FICTION

Una is a Rights Agent at Susanna Lea Associates and am starting to build a client list. 

She grew up in London and graduated from the University of Cambridge with a BA in English in 2021. At university, Una was particularly interested in contemporary West African and South Asian literature. She started as an agent's assistant at SLA London in 2022 and now handles some translation rights and provides support with editorial work and submissions.

Una's favourite reads always set her at ease right away and draws her in with impressive and accessible storytelling, memorable characters or an original hook. Una enjoys writing which expands her worldview, makes her laugh out loud or keeps her on her toes with its twists and turns. She welcomes submissions from debut authors and would be keen to read across a wide range of genres and styles.

She is looking for literary, upmarket and book club fiction, and is always drawn to stories that explores the challenges and complexities of love and relationships in all its forms —within families, between friends or in romantic relationships. Una loves the way in which familial relationships are dissected in The Wren, The Wren by Anne Enright and the impact of the local community in Small Worlds by Caleb Azumah Nelson. She is always drawn to novels with a strong sense of community, whether they are unified by geography, culture, or in other unexpected ways.

Una has always loved reading international and translated fiction and welcomes submissions from authors writing contemporary fiction that engages with cultures and traditions from around the world, such as in voices of the deities in Freshwater by Akwaeke Emezi or the subversive tales of Sayaka Murata. 

She is not looking for children’s or YA titles, science fiction or high-concept fantasy, but is open to submissions from authors writing in the speculative fiction space, and books with fantastical or otherworldly elements, be that magical realism or supernatural horror, such as Mona Awad's campus novel with a twist, Bunny. Una would also love to read more writing that engages with the natural world and reminds us of the limitations of human understanding.

In non-fiction, Una enjoys books that furthers her understanding of wider societal issues — nature and the environment, culture, and little-known history. Her recent non-fiction favourites are Eve by Cat Bohannon, Doppelgänger by Naomi Klein and Unearthed by Claire Ratinon.
