Be prepared for emergency first aid situations at work The Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification, specifically designed to benefit Learners by preparing them to deal with a range of emergency first aid situations and/or take on the role of emergency first aider in the workplace. This one day course is for people who have a specific responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities, to provide help to people in a range of emergency first aid situations. During the course, learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of emergency first aid situations, including: managing an unresponsive casualty, CPR, choking, shock, wounds and bleeding and minor injuries. At ECS, we also include the optional session on Management of life-threatening catastrophic bleeding as standard. Topics covered include The roles and responsibilities of an emergency first aider Assessing an incident Managing an unresponsive casualty CPR and defibrillation Recovery Position Choking Seizures Shock Wounds and bleeding Minor injuries (incl. Cuts, grazes and bruises; Minor burns and scalds) Management of life-threatening catastrophic bleeding Note: The Emergency First Aid at Work content aligns with Health and Safety Executive (HSE) syllabus Assessment Methods 4 x Practical assessments 1 x Theory assessment (Multiple Choice Question Paper). Eligibility Learners must be at least 14 years old on the first day of the training and be able to perform practical tasks at floor level. There are no other formal entry requirements Qualsafe strongly recommend that Learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy and numeracy or equivalent.

Be able to conduct a secondary survey. Who should attend? This qualification is for people who deal with first aid at work. Enabling them to be workplace first aiders under the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. This qualification is also for people who have a specific responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities. This will allow them to provide basic first aid to people in a range of situations. Pre-requisites Students must be at least 14 years old on the first day of training. Assessment and Certifications Assessment of this course is continuous and includes two theory/multiple choice question papers. Successful students will receive an Immerse Training Certificate, which is valid for three years. This certificate will be issued by Qualsafe, the awarding body for Immerse Training. Additional Information Completion of the Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work includes 3 credits at Level 3 of the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF). BOHS P903 - Management and control of evaporative cooling and other high risk industrial systems is there to provide background and an overview of the risk of Legionella infection and how it can be controlled in Evaporative Cooling and other high risk Industrial type systems. It is a requirement of this course that candidates have successfully completed P901 - Legionella- Management and Control of Building Hot and Cold Water Services. Where both P901 and P903 courses are run on subsequent days or as a combined course then this prerequisite is waived.

The Certificate is valid for 3 years and will expire from the date on the certificate.
