The qualification is aimed at all staff, particularly new starters in any workplace, where a basic understanding of fire safety is required.

This qualification is ideal for those already working, or preparing to work within industry wishing to become a First Aider in the workplace for the purposes of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1982. Topics within this qualification are regarded by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) as being important in maintaining good practice in the safe, prompt and effective treatment of injuries and ill health in the workplace. How long will it take me to achieve this qualification? This is a 1 credit qualification, with a guided learning hour’s value of 8 and it has a minimum contact time of 6 hours, which is typically delivered via a 1 day course. How is the qualification assessed? Learners must undertake a practical assessment of their competence along with a short open response knowledge assessment, where learners are required to provide a short response to a prescribed series of questions. What next? In line with guidance provided by the HSE, the qualification supports/approves work place emergency first aiders for a period of 3 years, after which point learners will need to retake the course. This regulated and nationally recognised basic life support training (BLS) and management of anaphylaxis course allows students to hone their skills and knowledge in BLS and AED use as well as anaphylaxis treatment. This first aid course is intended for individuals who have a specific responsibility at work, at home, or in volunteer and community activities to render basic life support and manage anaphylaxis in the event of an emergency. This course can be adapted to both adults and paediatrics.

Our First Aid At Work Requalification Course is intended for anybody who has previously completed a First Aid At Work Course and whose certification is about to expire. This training will refresh your understanding of first aid, whilst also giving you the confidence to respond appropriately in an emergency situation.

This qualification is valid for 3 years although HSE guidelines state that employers should ensure their first aiders remain competent to perform their role. As such, it is strongly recommended that first aiders undertake annual refresher training to practise their skills and update their knowledge on the latest first aid procedures. To qualify for a 2 day refresher course candidates must have an in date Level 3 First Aid At Work qualification.

The QA Level 3 Award in First Response Emergency Care also known as FREC3 is a PHEM D qualification which is the entry level into being able to provide medical cover at events. The cost is £425 plus VAT per person (£510pp) This is a 5 day course being held at our training centre in Laindon, Essex (SS15 6SS), all days must be attended and sessions will be 9am-5pm each day. Available course dates: July – 8th-12th August - 5th-9th The course will run with a minimum of 4 learners and a maximum of 6 learners. Who is this for? This qualification is typically delivered over 1 day. It is for those working in lower risk workplaces, or higher risk workplaces with a small number of staff and visitors. The qualification is open to those over 14 years of age, however only those over 16 can act as a sole first aider within the workplace. Course content This qualification has been developed to meet the first aid training requirements outlined by the H.S.E. The course includes: What is first aid? First aid in the workplace Responsibilities of the first aider Primary survey Unconscious casualty management Resuscitation Choking Shock Wounds and Bleeding Minor burns Seizures Additional topics can be delivered on request although delivery time may need to be extended and costs may vary. This Course is for a Maximum of 12 people and will require enough room for practical elements and enough room to sit everyone at least 1.5 meters apart in the same room for the purpose of tests

This Level 2 Award in Principles of Safe Handling and Administration of Medication (POSHAM) course has been specifically designed for those working within a health and social care setting, such as support workers or care workers, and have a responsibility for the safe handling and administration of medication. This qualification is also perfect for those looking to refresh their knowledge.

This first aid course is designed for people who have a specific interest or responsibility at work or in voluntary and community activities, such as a first aider, in being able to provide basic life support (BLS) when dealing with an emergency situation that may involve the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).
