Where an organisation’s risk assessment of First Aid needs identifies that there is a requirement for Emergency First Aid at Work practitioners, then this national Award in Emergency First Aid at Work satisfies the requirements of the regulatory body for First Aid – the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). All learners will have the skills and knowledge to provide the organisation with Emergency First Aider’s that can provide treatment to their casualties in a prompt, safe and effective manner. This training takes place at our Birmingham Training Centre on the Hagley Road in Edgbaston.

The Paediatric First aid course provides the comprehensive set of practical skills needed by people working in childcare settings. Giving both the ability and knowledge to deal with first aid emergencies.

The First Aid at Work training course, which conforms with HSE guidance, provides a comprehensive set of practical skills needed by first aiders in most workplaces, giving both the ability and knowledge to deal with first aid emergencies. It meets the standards required to help comply with Health and Safety (First aid) regulations. The comprehensive 1-day First aid at work course is ideal for those who need to be certified to be a first aider. The comprehensive 3-day First aid at work course is ideal for those who need to be certified to be a first aider in higher-risk working environments. First aiders are trained by a competent training provider in: • emergency first aid at work (EFAW) – at this level they're qualified to give emergency first aid to someone who is injured or becomes ill while at work • first aid at work (FAW) – qualified to EFAW level but can also apply first aid to a range of specific injuries and illnesses

Taught in a friendly and accessible way, this course is ideal for anyone who wants to feel prepared and calm in a crisis. Babies and are welcome to attend the course. We don't mind if they need feeding, changing etc. Our space is welcoming and friendly - and we are passionate about you being able to access the course, not having to have the extra hassle of arranging childcare.

The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 Emergency First Aid at Work

Come and join us to learn this beautiful meditative technique and let your mind and body relax with your hands engaged in this amazing creative and mindful activity. Weaving is a technique that has existed for thousands of years, present in every culture across the globe. You can weave with various materials and we will be using only upcycled wool and other textile pieces. You are also more than welcome to bring your own fabric scraps or wool and incorporate them it into your project. During the 3 hours workshop, you will learn how to set up a basic weaving loom, see some examples, and discuss various possibilities how they could be incorporated into clothing and fashion projects. This workshop will familiarise you with basic weaving techniques. We will cover how to prepare a loom, the plain weave and the soumak stitch. You should be able to complete a small wall hanging about size A6 (4,1x5,8 inches) or a bookmark if you are a complete beginner. This workshop is led by Anna Baran, a trauma informed designer, artist, and maker based in the north of Edinburgh. She has always drawn inspiration from the sea, with her walks to local beaches, particularly Wardie Bay during the lockdown, becoming not only a source of new ideas for her artistic practice but also a way to gather materials such as driftwood, pieces of plastic ropes, and seashells. Anna has consistently sought to incorporate upcycled materials into her art, using her work to raise environmental awareness and promote art as an accessible medium for self-expression, regardless of financial circumstances. In addition to participating in various art exhibitions and fashion-related events, she has delivered a wide range of art and craft workshops to diverse communities across Edinburgh. This FREE workshop is for Adults women only and is sponsored by CORRA and HENRY DUNCAN GRANTS By attending this class you release Anna Baran, Giada Gaslini and Art and Spirituality Cic, from any liability arising out of any personal injuries, emotional or physical release, death, physical reaction, expectations of results, theft in the venue or damages that may happen to people and objects while attending. Pictures will be taken during the workshop, if you prefer not to be in them, please inform the teacher.

3 - 4 hour course A course for (unpaid) carers and volunteers who care for people with mobility problems Gives learners the skills to protect their own backs Course Contents: The importance of safe manual handling Basic Risk Assessments Types of equipment designed to aid moving people safely Use of a wheelchair Safely moving people in and out of their wheelchair Safely moving people in and out of a car Use of banana boards and similar objects Helping people get up out of their chairs Helping people to walk by themselves, using sticks or zimmer frames where required Benefits of this course: This is a very practical course 36% of carers have injuries such as back pain, caused by their caring responsibilities This course is there to help carers take care of themselves by showing them, and giving time to practice, techniques to aid the person they care for move by themselves where possible CPD Accredited This course is not an Ofqual regulated qualification, and has no accreditation attached. Candidates will, however, receive a certificate of attendance, as seen to the left.
