My courses are suitable for people who would like to keep bees, or are already keeping them. All courses are held at my farm cottage in rural East Sussex – do get in touch for detailed directions.

This fascinating wine tasting evening will focus on the classic wine region of the Rhone Valley in France and the stunning Syrah grape (aka Shiraz in Oz). The evening will cover an overview of all the different appellations and an explanation of the different styles of wine produced. We will share our findings about current winemaking practices, marketing and tourism, and bring you right up to date with this dynamic and exciting wine region.

This course is designed to enhance the speaking and conversational skills of adult learners in English. Through a combination of interactive activities, discussions, and real-life scenarios, participants will develop the confidence and fluency needed to engage in various social and professional situations. Emphasis will be placed on improving pronunciation, expanding vocabulary, and refining grammar structures to communicate effectively in English.  Course Duration: 10 weeks (20 sessions) Course Objectives: By the end of this course, participants will: 1. Improve their overall speaking fluency and accuracy in English. 2. Enhance their listening skills to understand and respond appropriately in conversations. 3. Osteopathic palpation of the involuntary mechanism and paediatric/developmental anatomy of the cranium, membranous/fascial & fluid systems Course Title: OCC Access Course Dates: 14, 15 and 22 September 2024 (minimum 6 contact hours per day) Location: OCC, Canopi Building 7 - 14 Great Dover Street, London, SE1 4YR Osteopaths studying on our postgraduate courses need to have acquired hands-on skills beyond their undergraduate training. Our Access Course provides tailored training to introduce & nurture palpation of the involuntary mechanism and paediatric/developmental anatomy of the cranium, membranous/fascial & fluid systems to prepare less experienced osteopaths for further paediatric training. Our experienced faculty will deliver this 3-day course, which enables osteopaths to reach the required standard for entry onto the OCC courses and does not limit our osteopaths to any one technical style. These days can also be useful to osteopaths who want to refresh or enhance previously acquired skills & can be attended as individual days if space permits. Course Content: Day 1 - Saturday 14th September – Vault & base osteology, applied anatomy & motion – RTM & venous sinuses – Sacral /pelvic anatomy & motion Day 2 - Sunday 15th September – SBS patterns, theory & palpation – Fascia – Fluid – CNS Day 3 - Sunday 22nd September – Viscerocranium anatomy, osteology & motion – Principles of treatment – Intra oral techniques – Condylar parts osteology, applied anatomy & treatment All 3 days will be delivered in small groups to facilitate individual learning and needs. Craft workshop using a variety including glass cutting along with designing with dichroic glass elements to make sparkling glass jewellery. Fused Glass Workshop – Glitzy Glass Jewellery I want to share my 15+ years of experience with you. This fused glass workshop is held at my Derbyshire studio and gallery space in the middle of Wirksworth, near Matlock. About this fused glass workshop Everyone loves sparkle and this workshop is perfect for making wearable art for yourself or to give as give away as gifts. After a brief introduction to how to work safely with glass, I will teach you the technique of cutting and layering sheet glass to produce your own unique creations. The process of cutting is a skill that takes time to develop but wonderful designs can be built from basic shapes. No experience necessary, just an understanding that you might not be “perfect” straight away. I’m told I make it look easy, but I’ve been doing it, almost daily, for 15 years! Produce a range of unique jewellery using specialist glass called Dichroic Glass, a rainbow of colours and a myriad of decorative inclusions, you will design and make jewellery pieces including pendants, earrings, cufflinks and brooches. Your creations will need to be fired, cleaned and finished by Stevie so will be ready in around three weeks. The materials cost will enable you to make at least 3 (maybe 4) pieces in the time, maybe more depending on your chosen designs and how quickly you work. Fused Glass Workshop – Set of Trinket Dishes I want to share my 15+ years of experience with you. This fused glass workshop is held at my Derbyshire studio and gallery space in the middle of Wirksworth near Matlock. About this fused glass workshop Create a set of 3 mini dishes, a perfect size for a tealight candle or to store your earrings and rings. Make for yourself of to give as gifts. Explore two different design/construction processes and use precut tiles, rods and frit balls to create your designs. Can’t make the workshop? Still want to make your own fused glass dishes, check out my simplified (but still sparkly) make at home kit. Explore a little in this short fused glass taster workshop and learn a little about how the kiln firing to 800 degrees c changes the raw/pointy pieces of glass to a have smooth, shiny finish. Simply complete your designs during the session and leave them with me at the studio for me to fire twice, once flat and once into the bowl mould. We will make arrangements to pick up a few weeks later or I can post your finished piece at cost. I will talk through all the Health & Safety in the session but I want you to know now, you will be handling precut glass pieces, they have pointy ends but with the right handling, they won’t hurt you. Recommended for ages 10 and above, all under 16s to be accompanied by a paying adult.
