The 2-day SSSTS (Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme) training course is one of the courses that forms part of the CITB Site Safety Plus range of courses and is available via a network of CITB accredited providers.

This two-day Site supervision safety training scheme (SSSTS) course is designed for those who have, or are about to acquire, supervisory responsibilities. The course covers all relevant legislation and other aspects which affect safe working in the building, construction and civil engineering industries. It is delivered interactively including group and individual activities. It highlights the need for risk assessment in the workplace, the implementation of the necessary control measures, and adequate communication to sustain a health and safety culture among the workforce. The Aim of the course is to help site supervisors to supervise health and safety on site in accordance with current legal provisions and within the context of their role. They should develop an understanding of responsibility and accountability for site health, safety and welfare of workers on site and be able to recognise that a safe site is efficient, economical, productive and environmentally friendly. At the start of each course, delegates will be provided with their own copy of the mandatory publications: (Construction site supervision and Toolbox talks) The course is broken down into 5 learning areas Legal and management Health and welfare General safety High risk activities Environment

The objective of this qualification the Highfield Level 2 Award in Food Safety is to prepare learners for employment in catering role, or to support a role in the workplace. Learners gaining this qualification will know that safety in catering and manufacturing is the responsibility of everyone involved in the storage, preparation, cooking service and handling of ingredients. Its topics are regarded by the Foods Standards Agency as being important to maintaining good practice in the production of safe food, and are as follows: An introduction to food safety Microbiological hazards Contamination hazards and controls Food poisoning and its control Personal hygiene Design of premises and equipment Cleaning and disinfection Food pests and control Food safety management from purchase to service Food safety law and enforcement Revision and examination technique

The Site Managers refresher (SMSTS-R) course is for delegates who have previously passed the full Site Management Safety Training scheme (SMSTS) course or subsequent refresher course, and can provide a valid current certificate. It aims to bring health and safety knowledge up-to-date, as well as giving a thorough overview of the legislative changes and their impact in the workplace. The course includes a wide range of topics, many building on the previous five-day course programme. Delivered interactively, the course includes group and individual exercises, discussions and projects.

The Level 2 Award in Fire Safety is aimed at anyone who is involved in the management of fire safety or fire prevention in the workplace. This includes managers, supervisors, team leaders and fire marshals (or wardens).
