Level 3 Workshop (F2F) Level 3 training is an advanced level of Makaton training and will help you to improve and develop your signing and symbol skills and how to use them effectively every day. Content Level 3 training provides a practical learning session on how apply the Makaton Language Programme. The Level 3 Workshop will start with a refresher on the signs previous taught in Levels 1 and 2, building on topics such as; people, activities, events and objects. New vocabulary will also be introduced which are ideal for personal development; feelings, interests, community and, thinking and knowing. You will begin to learn more abstract concepts such as propositions. Duration Face to face workshops comprise of a minimum of six and a half learning hours. Workshops generally will take place over a full day of training. Deliver method: Venue based Accessibility Please indicate if you have any challenges or additional needs, so reasonable adjustments can be made to support your learning and participation. Entry criteria Participants must have attended Level 2 training. Study materials you will receive a Participant's Manual, which includes the Makaton symbols and signs that you learn in the workshop. You will also be given a certificate of attendance. Please remember to keep your Level 3 training certificate in case you want to attend further Makaton training. Next steps After completing Level 3 training you can continue on your Makaton journey by attending our final Workshop, Level 4 training. Become a Makaton Trainer: As you will have previously obtained your Level 2 Workshop certificate, this enables you the opportunity to train to become a Makaton Signing for Babies and Families Trainer. Basic Life Support Qualification Four Hours Cost:  £40 + vat per person A maximum of 12 students can be accommodated on this course, and all candidates must be a minimum of 14 years of age to qualify. SYLLABUS This regulated Level 2 Basic Life Support qualification will give learners the skills, knowledge and practical competence to administer First Aid until Professional Medical help arrives. It is particularly suitable for healthcare professionals for the purpose of Continual Professional Development (CPD. SYLLABUS A range of subjects are covered including: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Primary Survey Choking Assessment and Marking Safe use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Recovery Position CERTIFICATION This qualification is valid for three years from the date of achievement. The learner will need to complete the full course again to qualify for a further three years. It is recommended that the learner attends annual refresher training. Immediate Life Support • ILS Training The Immediate Life Support (ILS) course provides the necessary knowledge and skills when dealing with cardiac arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies. These workshops are designed for healthcare professionals who must be equipped to deal with life-threatening emergencies. Our ILS workshops are interactive, engaging, and hands-on. We believe that learning is best achieved through practice, so our workshops involve real-life scenarios where participants can apply their newly acquired skills under the guidance of experienced instructors. Upon completion of a First-Aid Qualification, employers can be assured that they have highly-trained personnel capable of responding swiftly and effectively to any First-Aid needs. Bristol Fencing Club Adult (14+) Beginner Course

This class is about getting to grips with Tube Setting. You will have to option to create a pendant or ring – maybe even two pieces if time allows. Krista will guide you through the process of tube setting where you will be using the Foredom Pendant Motor to cut a seat for your facetted brilliant cut stone. From here you can design and make your pendant or ring, solder your setting in place and then learn the techniques to set your stone. WHEN: Sunday 15th September 10-5pm WHERE:  Workshop 925 based at The Mayford Centre, just outside of Woking and very close to Guildford. Unit F9 The Mayford Centre, Mayford Green Woking, Surrey  GU22 0PP TUTOR: Krista Thomson WHAT DOES THE DAY INVOLVE? This class is about getting to grips with Tube Setting. We have put together a Pinterest Board to show how tube setting can be used within jewellery making. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: It will help to have some experience with basic making skills. All tools and consumables are supplied YOU WILL BE PROVIDED WITH: 0.8mm silver sheet – 0.5cm wide x 9cm length – for a band ring or pendant design. 2mm silver round wire – 15cm Length – for a pendant or 2 rings 4.5mm silver tube – 7cm 4mm Cubic Zirconias x 3 WHAT TO BRING: For safety reasons, during each class, you are required to wear appropriate footwear, we request that no open toed shoes are worn within Workshop 925. Long hair should also be tied back when working with the equipment. You may also wish to bring a notebook. We have handouts for many demonstrations, but there are always many tips and tricks given verbally by the tutor, which some might like to keep note of. Also pack your own lunch, snacks and drinks for the session. Create your very own silver chain bracelet during this day workshop. We will guide you through all the processes involved in creating your own design. From cutting, shaping and texturing the silver, through to soldering and polishing. You will create each link and a T bar clasp. This is a fantastic project to help you learn or improve your soldering skills, and a great introduction to jewellery making. WHEN: Saturday 16th November 10-5pm WHERE:  Workshop 925 based at The Mayford Centre, just outside of Woking and very close to Guildford. Unit F9 The Mayford Centre, Mayford Green Woking, Surrey  GU22 0PP TUTOR: Kirsten Hendrich WHAT DOES THE DAY INVOLVE? Create your very own silver chain bracelet during this day workshop. We support you throughout the session and provide demonstrations to show you the techniques and steps needed to create your own chain bracelet from start to finish. Our small classes mean we are able to provide each student with the support they require. Students must be 16+ Students aged 14 or 15 are able to attend if accompanied by an adult. Immerse Training is a fully regulated First Aid Training Provider. We love working in schools, nurseries and youth groups teaching young people how to keep each other safe and what to do if something goes wrong. With sessions sessions from 1 hour tasters for every class in a school, to after school first aid clubs, Immerse Training are certain to design a programme that’s right for you, your budget and your children.   We currently deliver First Aid and Life-Saving skills across a variety of settings to groups of children and young people from 4 to 14 years old, when they are able to participate in accredited First Aid courses. All of our First Aid Training for Children courses are designed in collaboration with qualified childcare practitioners and child health clinicians. Our programmes can be tailored to meet any area of the curriculum from Early Years Foundation Stage through to Key Stage 3. First Aid Training for Children is a great way to prepare young people for specific activities such as Duke of Edinburgh expeditions, babysitting and sports leadership. First Aid Courses For Young People Programmes and sessions for young people focusing on how to keep each other safe and what to do if something goes wrong. This is a full day intensive workshop which will teach you the processes involved in photo etching, including preparing the metal for etching, transferring the designs onto the metal using press and peel (P&P) paper and how to use specific etching solutions to cut the designs into the metal. This course will allow you to broaden your design process so that you can add some intricate textures to your copper and silver jewellery designs. You will be provided with a set amount of materials including copper sheet to practice the process and a 4cm by 4cm piece of silver sheet to create a silver textured pendant during your session. WHEN: Sunday 3rd November 10-5pm WHERE:  Workshop 925 based at The Mayford Centre, just outside of Woking and very close to Guildford. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: None, all abilities are welcomed. This course is a great introduction to etching for those who have a vast experience in jewellery making but have not yet tried this technique as well as beginners looking to create beautiful textural pieces of jewellery.
