Alice Goldsack is a graduate of Queens Road Art College and trained at Diana Porters studio for more than eighteen years. Her avant-garde style is sought after by the artistic and alternative customers familiar to her studio in Bristol, UK. Her pieces often mix quirky individuality with pure artistic talent and are highly collectible. With over 25 years’ experience in gold and silver smithing and fine jewellery making, Alice’s work has been featured in numerous exhibitions and even commissioned for costume design by Netflix. As a jeweller, one of Alices passions is as an educator. Since 2006 she has been tutoring privately and through mixed classes in her own custom built workshop just off Stokes Croft in the heart of Bristol. Her classes come highly recommended and will take complete beginners through to experienced artists and teach them the many techniques required to craft beautiful pieces of jewellery. Alice is well known for her private commissions, and with her eye for the personal touch, has become increasingly popular with engaged couples. Not only for making bespoke engagement and wedding rings, but also for her private wedding ring courses tutoring a couple on making their partners rings. Fun, boozy group painting workshops. Instructor led, we help bring out your creativity and you’ll surprise yourself! Hen parties, birthdays, friends’ night out, date night, team building. At the moment, I’m working on a new project to recycle used canvasses. At the end of each Paint by Wine workshop, I have an additional copy of the original painting. During lockdown I’ve been playing with oil paints and painting over them. You can see a few on the wall as they’re hanging on display in the studio. Soon, I’ll put on a small online exhibition on the previous site studiolx.co.uk.

Here you will find Lisa’s Taste of the West, Gold Award winning products. It was whilst cooking a dinner for HM Queen Elizabeth back in 2005 that the idea of starting a chocolate school was born! If Lisa is running your workshop ask her to tell you the story! The Chocolate Tart is based in Clevedon BS21 and operating out of various exciting venues in Clevedon, Bristol and North Somerset. Flo-Jo was founded in 2004 by Erika and Delia born from a love of textiles and sewing. Originally a clothing brand, named after their children Florence & Jonah, the Flo-Jo stall was a regular at festivals and markets in the South West. Their hand made ranges included children's wear, retro men and women's clothing as well their own range of underwear. In 2010 they started designing sewing kits, hosting sewing parties and teaching. Two years later they opened their own shop in Bristol. Situated on a busy independent street the shop & workshop has turned into their perfect creative space brimming with beautiful fabrics and haberdashery. They are very proud that 2016 saw the publication of their first book 'Knickers'

SOPHIE RAE IS A MURAL ARTIST WORKING PREDOMINANTLY IN BRISTOL, LONDON + THE SOUTH WEST SPECIALISING IN BOLD, COLOURFUL, BOTANICAL, ABSTRACT DESIGNS Sophie Rae loves gliding a paintbrush across a smooth surface, transforming bland grey walls into beautiful works of art. It is truly where she gets in the flow. She loves working on walls outside and in, large scale murals as well as smaller ones. She’s painted murals in gardens, cafes, bars, restaurants, offices, schools, shop and high street facades and hoardings, to name a few. Drawing inspiration from plants (glorious plants) and enlarging, and playing with abstraction until a sweet balanced composition emerges. As well as mural painting Sophie creates beautiful prints, lovingly handcrafted, without using a press. Shapes are sketched and refined, then cut by hand with a craft knife into stencils. A roller then applies ink in the gaps. This helps give each print its irregularities. If you’re after learning from Sophie Rae she can be found sharing her unique printing technique, inspiring and igniting creativity through (fairly) regularly teaching workshops. Once a month at Kiln Workshop, in Bristol and now and again at schools and colleges across the South West, sometimes even further! Check out the workshops page. WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT? Our approach is light touch with minimal intervention in the environment and prioritising nature. We are currently developing our site facilities and creating spaces for small groups and low impact events. These include bushcraft, forest school, wellbeing sessions, forest bathing, yoga, pilates, artist retreats etc. We’re already working with schools, charities, youth and arts groups. If you've got a small scale event, workshop or idea you'd like to make happen, we would love to hear from you. Just drop us a message on our contact page. NATURE Our ethos is very much one of balance, so for us plants and animals are as important as people. We are currently working with fantastic environmental advisors to establish what plants and animals are currently residing on our site. Our aim is to protect the habitats that already exist, create a comprehensive management plan and increase biodiversity where possible. It's all about the science! In common with most of the British Isles the land here has been managed by humans for hundreds of years - a mixture of farming, park land and old tree plantations. It’s not wild in the true sense of an untouched natural ecosystem but it’s a special place that has been left pretty much to itself for several decades. We’re just starting our long term project to create more detailed surveys of the flora and fauna, and are excited to meet and work with new people. Sarah specialises in providing bespoke hand carved items ranging from lettering and relief decoration to producing architectural details such as corbel brackets and ceiling roses. By adding hand carved decoration, items that are otherwise plain and ordinary are transformed into unique pieces that are personal to the owner. This applies just as much to everyday objects such as chopping boards as to more elaborate ornamental features to decorate the home. Wood carving is incredibly versatile and Sarah can either work from existing designs you may have seen or create a completely new piece for you. As well as producing the initial carved work Sarah can offer a variety of finishes including oil and water gilding using genuine Gold and Silver leaf. Sarah's interest in traditional crafts began whilst studying for A Levels in Art & History of Art at the Royal Latin School, Buckinghamshire. Through understanding how the country's great buildings were built and furnished, along with the reasoning behind their design, she developed an even greater respect for their creators and understood why it is important to maintain these buildings for future generations. From Buckingham she moved to Portsmouth to study a degree in Restoration and Decorative Studies at Portsmouth University. Within her first year she had grasped the basics in a variety of traditional decorative techniques including faux finishing, gilding and scagliola. In her final two years she decided to focus her studies on woodcarving and plasterwork- both in a restorative sense and in creating new designs using traditional materials and methods. During her time at University she was provided with the opportunity to hone her skills in both woodcarving and plasterwork. Her projects included 3-coat lime plastering, using the lime plaster she'd made from scratch using traditional recipes. She researched the historic and almost extinct technique of freehand stucco work, creating her own designs and experimenting with various recipes, including those that were used in the restoration of Uppark in Hampshire. Thankfully all that hard work paid off and she graduated with a 1st Class Honours. Sadly, her year was the last to complete this course as the University decided to end it in back in 2008. From Hampshire she was on the move again, this time to Shropshire where she began work with a heritage company. Here she built upon her project managing skills and learnt more about the structural side of building restoration, particularly timber framed buildings. Whilst she enjoyed her time in Shropshire, she decided that she was much happier in her workshop among the sawdust and plaster, which leads her to her current home back in West Sussex.
