BalletDots is for pre-schoolers (3yrs+). (5-7yrs) The syllabus is based on the ISTD grade however we do also incorporate an imaginative playful approach to the work to keep the Ballet fun. All technique can be boring and we don't want that! (8-10yrs) Tap uses a different skill set to Ballet and Jazz as the emphasise is on creating rhythm and sound using footwork. Due to the nature of Tap, the physicality of the work is mainly focused on the legs, hips, knees and ankles and of course those tapping feet! Tap teaches a great sense of rhythm, timing and musical awareness. Peter is the Theatre Manager for Cranleigh Schools and has worked as the Technical Manager producing shows and events for Tring Park School for the Performing Arts, as well as touring with Encore Dance Company. This specialised course gives students a glimpse behind the curtains at the theatre, and the basic skills they need to work in this industry. It's perfect for anyone who wants to work in crucial behind-the-scenes roles in theatre, as each day contains practical training on subjects like lighting, design, sound, projection, setup and operation. In fact, you'll be taught the process of putting on a show, and get hands-on experience when you use what you've learned to run the technical side of the live shows at the end of the Academy! ‍ WHEN AND WHERE? The Technical Theatre Course takes place in Cranleigh Arts Centre, around 20 minutes from Guildford. A showreel allows them to see you in action through a series of short video clips.  While taking part in the Academy, you will have the chance to purchase optional headshots and a showreel to showcase your talents. Our team will help you capture the very best bits of your performances and a brilliant headshot that you can use to apply for future castings and opportunities. When booking the Academy below, you can add a showreel to your booking if you choose.

Special Edition 2 hour class learning choreo and dancing under a rain effect machine.  A professional videographer will capture our performances and everyone will get an edit.  You will absolutely get drenched, however if you’re desperate to keep hair dry (trust me I get it😂) we can have the machine turned off at the end and you can dance in the puddles lol Bring a towel! There are no showers. Just 2 small changing rooms and a toilet. Please arrive 15 mins early so that we are ready to go at 3!!
