We are paid a flat rate and we all work together, which can mean anything from peeling bags of spuds to attending high-flying business meetings. WE ARE ALL WOMEN We are built on the idea of sisterhood, so Soul Food Sisters is a women-only workers co-op, open to females from diverse backgrounds who love to cook. (Sorry, guys!). Also our assets are locked, so in the unlikely event we go bankrupt, nobody will be allowed to go home with the soup urns or chopping boards! 5. WE ARE A DEMOCRACY All the women in the Soul Food Sisters collective get a fair share and a listening ear. We make all our decisions by consensus, which isn’t always the quickest way, or the easiest. But consensus means that everyone is treated with respect and that we genuinely make decisions as a unified group. Every single one of us has equal ownership. 6. WE ARE ETHICAL To us, having a clear conscience is just as important as having a clean kitchen. We source ethical ingredients wherever possible and support other co-ops, making sure to buy our food locally. Of course, sometimes there are ingredients - like rice paper, for example - that we have to go further afield to find! But ethically sourced food is our utmost priority. 7. By harnessing the spirit of Glasgow and it’s culturally diverse and fascinating communities, we provide food that celebrates diversity and for people of all cultures to enjoy together. 8. Given that a primary course goal is to achieve the Foundation Certification, the course text will be provided in advance of the workshop so the participant may begin studying. In addition, daily homework assignments and practice exams will be provided. The Foundation-level exam is taken at the end of the third day of the Traditional Classroom course. The focus will be on practical applicability. Use is made of practical and actual reservoir engineering problems and examples to illustrate relevant subjects. By attending this VILT course, participants will have a deeper knowledge of modern reservoir engineering practices for reservoir development and production, including the construction and use of reservoir models. Target Audience The VILT course is intended for experienced reservoir engineers with prior technical or engineering exposure to production activities. Petroleum engineers and geoscientists who require more than general knowledge of reservoir engineering will also find this course useful. Participants are invited but not obliged to bring a short presentation (max of 15 minutes) on a practical problem they encountered in their work. This will then be explained and discussed in the VILT class. A short test or quiz will be held at the end the VILT course. Training Methods This VILT course will be delivered online over 5 half-days. There will be 2 blocks of two hours per day, including lectures, discussion, quizzes and short classroom exercises. Additionally, some self-study will be required. Two breaks of 10 minutes will be provided each day. Course Duration: 5 half-day sessions, 4 hours per session (20 hours in total). He provides project consultancy, quality assurance and reservoir engineering training for major oil companies, governments, engineering firms and other global customers. Before he retired from Shell in 2012, he held positions as Senior Reserves Consultant for the Middle East and Reservoir Engineering Discipline Lead.
