The mission of the Countryside Learning is a simple one. It is to educate, inform and inspire children, parents and teachers, so that they can enjoy and appreciate the countryside while having a greater understanding of the wide range of issues surrounding it. We are a national registered charity (327091) formed in 1986. Countryside Learning is focused on providing a variety of educational opportunities designed to connect children with the countryside in a fun and practical way. We hope to nuture a lifelong interest in loving, respecting and learning about the environment. Research shows that learning in the outdoors can bring massive benefits to a child’s confidence, understanding and engagement, together with benefits to their mental and physical wellbeing. We collaborate with several organisations, that seek to promote outdoor learning. Our Countryside Live events provide an opportunity for organisations to come together to engage children with food, farming and natural environment activities. We are member of the Countryside Classroom consortium and are able to exchange knowledge and expertise with other members. The CC website is a great source for resources for our teachers to use back at school. We reach up to 20,000 children per year with our programme of events and the members of our Farms for Schools programme reach a further 300,000 children. . Our events range from visits for a single class right up to an event that caters for up to 4,000 inner city children, when we bring the countryside to them.

Women With Wings is an organisation primarily aimed at supporting women getting into training, employment and self employment. Our Enterprise Centre provides space where individuals can learn new skills, gain qualifications and start their own business. The centre will help remove barriers and improve lives by increasing confidence and reducing isolation in our members. Language can often be a barrier to engaging with local services, so we are here to support and signpost where necessary. Childcare can also be an obstacle for many, limiting their opportunities to ones that are local but also have to fit around the school run. The Enterprise Centre is based in Little Hulton on a local shopping precinct just off Manchester Road. The centre has private rooms to rent as office space, meetings or training as well as Wi-Fi access and free refreshments.

John Watters - Managing Director and Chief Instructor has been a qualified First Aider for over 20 years, six of which were spent in the Royal Air Force. He has been a Cadet First Aid Instructor for over 3 years, and has found that First Aid is a very useful Skill for everyone to have. As a result, John decided to start 1st Aid Training (North West) Ltd with the aim of delivering Professional First Aid Training to everyone. One of the companies main areas of Focus is Young People, as John believes that everyone should know at least some First Aid. 1st Aid Training (North West) Ltd is actively working with Local Schools in order to take First Aid to Young People, to give them confidence and an early start on the First Aid Learning Ladder.

I am a Reiki Master and a Personal Development Coach. I work with healing energy and give therapy treatments to enhance well-being. I first trained in 2005 and this is when I started teaching reiki and giving healing sessions. I retrained in 2009 with Penelope Quest, who is an international author of several best-selling reiki books. She only taught a couple of reiki courses each year as she was so busy writing. I couldn't wait to enrol on her next course, where I learnt many of the traditional Japanese methods of reiki healing.  Previously, I was a business studies lecturer for 13 years and I was also a mentor for the Princes' Trust, helping others to develop their skills into having their own full-time business. Currently I coach my own students in the area of personal development such as goal setting, managing emotions and building confidence.  In my teaching I am always delighted to share my knowledge and experiences of reiki and personal development and my students come from all over the UK. When I am not working I enjoy singing, reading and I have been learning Italian for a couple of years. Here at our school we deliver traditional Irish Dance lessons for children in Bolton, aged 2 and above. We aim to promote fun, friendship, fitness and above all, a love of Irish Dancing. Every pupil will be encouraged to develop their dancing to the best of their ability within a challenging yet supportive setting. We believe this balance is a key factor for the motivation of any successful dancer. As a pupil of the Shamrock School of Irish Dance, children will have the opportunity to participate in display performances as well as grade examinations, local and international competitions. All pupils will be directed and trained towards technical excellence and improve their confidence and fitness whilst having fun dancing! Display performances are an excellent opportunity to share our talent within the community whilst developing pupils' teamwork skills. Within the class setting, there will be a focus on flexibility, stamina and technique. Pupils are encouraged to strive for success, both on a personal and competitive level. The Shamrock School of Irish Dance is registered with the organisation - An Coimisiún le Rincí Gaelacha. An Coimisiún is the largest and most recognised Irish Dance Organisation in the world.
