Here at our school we deliver traditional Irish Dance lessons for children in Bolton, aged 2 and above. We aim to promote fun, friendship, fitness and above all, a love of Irish Dancing. Every pupil will be encouraged to develop their dancing to the best of their ability within a challenging yet supportive setting. We believe this balance is a key factor for the motivation of any successful dancer. As a pupil of the Shamrock School of Irish Dance, children will have the opportunity to participate in display performances as well as grade examinations, local and international competitions. All pupils will be directed and trained towards technical excellence and improve their confidence and fitness whilst having fun dancing! Display performances are an excellent opportunity to share our talent within the community whilst developing pupils' teamwork skills. Within the class setting, there will be a focus on flexibility, stamina and technique. Pupils are encouraged to strive for success, both on a personal and competitive level. The Shamrock School of Irish Dance is registered with the organisation - An Coimisiún le Rincí Gaelacha. An Coimisiún is the largest and most recognised Irish Dance Organisation in the world. All classes are taught by experienced dancers Jacqueline Drain T.C.R.G., Catherine Teahan and Alexandra Cummins T.C.R.G. (fully CRB checked).

We don’t believe in sitting around waiting for turns, we want to see movement, improvement and happy smiley faces! A very warm welcome to Valley College, situated on Ewood Campus. I am delighted to be Head of Valley College , an educational environment which is focused on its mission statement 'Preparation for Adulthood, Citizenship and Employment' (PACE). It is so important to ensure all learners gain the knowledge, skills and understanding they need to lead confident, healthy, independent lives, and become informed, active and responsible citizens in society. Having been appointed as Head of Valley College and Ewood Campus in September 2021, I would like to share some information about the provision for Valley College learners. Valley College learners are supported by skilled and familiar staff and alongside their advocates, create a bespoke individualised pathway to ensure future aspirations are achieved. Learners are encouraged to take part in a wide range of activities across and beyond the curriculum, contributing fully to the life of the college and their communities. Learners have the opportunity to reflect on their experiences and understand how they are developing personally and socially, tackling many of the spiritual, moral, social and cultural issues that are part of growing into adulthood. Within Valley College, learners are able to develop new skills and access the community, and sessions are focused on preparing learners for adult life. Valley College ensures all learners leave with relevant qualifications (if appropriate) and gain their desired aspiration destination. We work together with our learners to increase their independence, so they can take more control over their lives. Valley College is a friendly place where learners can develop interests and gradually gain the skills and confidence they need to move on to the next stage of their lives, preparing them for adulthood, citizenship and employability.

We are taking measures to ensure that the wellbeing of all employees, students and suppliers is paramount during this global pandemic. Official guidance from WHO and PHE is being monitored to ensure compliance and appropriate responses. All staff have been fully briefed with regard to appropriate practices to ensure the spread of the virus is minimised. By maintaining rigorous cleanliness and hygiene standards across all of our sites we aim to minimise the spread of the virus. Full Risk Assessments have been adopted and we are working with customers, families, carers and other third parties to ensure appropriate management of our practices and procedures. Flexible, engaging and fully supported vocational day provision for young adults 16-24 and adults 25+ with mild to moderate learning difficulties/disabilities, brain injuries, autism and/or mental health located in Great Barr and Tamworth. Since 1996 we have recognised that adults who learn differently can enjoy increased independence, improved wellbeing and greater life choices through our vocational learning provision. The cut-backs in free education courses through colleges has necessitated an alternative approach which led to the establishment of Community Prospects. We felt that it was crucial that the continued funding changes should not take away the significant progress that we had seen in 100’s of students since 1996.
