<p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">On this, 3 hour or 5 hour introduction to macram&eacute; workshop with Edinburgh artist Lucy Wayman, you get the opportunity to work on longer projects.&nbsp;</p><p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">You can choose to create a plant or pot hanger, or stay on to work on a more larger macram&eacute; project, such as a double plant hanger, wall hanging or bag.&nbsp;</p>
<p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">The workshop will start with the basic principles and techniques of macram&eacute;, allowing you to build your confidence by creating small projects such as a key ring, before moving on to designing and creating your plant hanger, bespoke wall hanging, or bag.</p>
<p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">Once you feel more confident, you will learn how to calculate rope lengths and plan designs to create your chosen hand-crafted macram&eacute; project&nbsp;using 100% cotton rope and a selection of coloured twines. A helpful instruction manual will be provided to guide you through your project.</p><p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">If you opt for the plant hanger project your workshop will finish after 3 hours. The longer wall hanging and bag projects last for an extra 2 hours, i.e. a 5 hour workshop.</p>

Accessibility
The workshop space is on the first-floor of our Georgian mews home and unfortunately we do not have lift access. Blue badge holders can park outside our front door on the single yellow line by arrangement.

Minimum number no refund policy
To ensure we can always pay our creatives a fair fee, we require a minimum number of bookings for each workshop and for this reason bookings are non-refundable. Get into the holiday spirit at our Christmas wreath workshop with local artist and sculptor Lucy Wayman! 

Join us for a fun and festive DIY Christmas crafts experience where you'll create a beautiful wreath for your home, all while enjoying a complimentary drink of mulled wine or Shibui mulled tea.
In this 4 hour beginner-friendly workshop, you'll start with the basics of macramé, using soft cotton or jute cord to tie knots and craft unique macramé tree ornaments in various colors and patterns. 
After making your tree decorations, you'll use the macramé techniques learned to create a stunning, personalised wreath on a metal hoop. Feel free to bring any trinkets, beads, or ribbons from home to incorporate into your design.
No prior experience is needed; our expert instructor will guide you through each step in this hands-on workshop, and answer your questions. 
By the end of the session, you'll take home a gorgeous wreath and festive decorations to enjoy for years to come, all while connecting with fellow crafters in this creative holiday activities event!

One afternoon, we were enjoying a day out in the sunshine and had stopped to feed our daughter of 7 months, she’s just started solid food and we’d been giving her sliced banana to chew on. On this particular day, she inhaled a small piece and began to choke. I quickly remembered Martin’s words, put her in the proper hold, bottom in the air and one forceful strike between her shoulder blades dislodged the banana and although she was shocked, she was able to breathe again and I can’t tell you how relieved we felt! I came across Mini First Aid through a Facebook promotion and there was a huge demand for the Infant and Child First Aid class which was shared on our internal and external social channels. The communication and organisation of the event was excellent - Sarah-Lou was professional, engaging and even injected some parent style humour! The class was interactive and educational - everyone took something away from it including much more confidence in dealing with any emergencies which could arise with their little ones. Our *NEW* Mini First Aid Baby Proofing class is our second class, designed for parents and carers of babies and children over 3 months. It can be taken after our 2 hour Baby and Child First Aid class, or in isolation for those parents who are starting their weaning journey, or have a baby on the move!
This course is an absolute must for preventing accidents in the home – very sadly, in 2020 over 60,000 children were admitted into hospital in the UK after a preventable accident. Parents and carers lead such busy lives that we are often just a bit of good luck away from a hair straightener burn, a fall down the stairs or a choking incident while your back is turned. Baby proofing will teach you how to prevent these accidents from happening, as well as giving you a first aid refresh on how to deal with burns and choking.
The 2-hour Baby Proofing class is Accredited by the Global Alliance for Child Safety. Mini First Aid Baby Proofing follows on perfectly from our parent and carer first aid class and is available at public venues or a private class at home.

St Joseph’s School, Wetherby (Early Years class) Our Nursery class love to get involved in whole-school curriculum enrichment activities but First Aid for 3-4 year olds? One afternoon, we were enjoying a day out in the sunshine and had stopped to feed our daughter of 7 months, she’s just started solid food and we’d been giving her sliced banana to chew on. On this particular day, she inhaled a small piece and began to choke. I quickly remembered Martin’s words, put her in the proper hold, bottom in the air and one forceful strike between her shoulder blades dislodged the banana and although she was shocked, she was able to breathe again and I can’t tell you how relieved we felt! All the equipment and materials you need are included in the price, unless stated otherwise. 
Light refreshments from local suppliers are provided. On full day workshops you are welcome to bring your own lunch to eat inside or out. There is also a wide range of independent sit-in or takeaway delis, cafés, and restaurants, plus a range of supermarkets all within a 5-10 minute walk.
Accessibility
The workshop space is on the first-floor of our Georgian mews home and unfortunately we do not have lift access. Blue badge holders can park outside our front door on the single yellow line by arrangement.
Allergies
The workshop space is in our open plan living space and is not nut free. Please let us know about any skin or food allergies before booking. We offer a dairy-free milk and gluten free snack alternative.
Minimum number no refund policy
To ensure we can always pay our creatives a fair fee, we require a minimum number of bookings for each workshop and for this reason bookings are non-refundable. Should we have to cancel due to low numbers, we will offer you the option to swap to an alternative date or workshop, or to request a refund.
We do our very best to avoid cancellations. Since we often get late bookings, we keep our workshops on sale for as long as possible. We realise that some of you travel from afar, so if you book a space and have not yet received an email confirming your workshop is going ahead and need to make plans for your trip, please get in touch before booking any travel or accommodation so we can update you on booking numbers. Make two fabulous festive soap and skincare gift sets on this one day workshop with The Scottish Soapworks in Edinburgh City Centre.
This is a one day, beginner-friendly organic glycerine soap making and cream blending workshop with a Christmas twist!
You will learn how to make two 100g soap bars, and blend 200g of Vitamin E-rich hand and body cream, using a specially selected tried-and-tested recipe featuring gorgeous festive-themed scents.
During the day, you will also learn about the properties of essential oils, and share tips and ideas for gift wrapping.

Light refreshments from local suppliers are provided. On full day workshops you are welcome to bring your own lunch to eat inside or out. There is also a wide range of independent sit-in or takeaway delis, cafés, and restaurants, plus a range of supermarkets all within a 5-10 minute walk.
Accessibility
The workshop space is on the first-floor of our Georgian mews home and unfortunately we do not have lift access. Blue badge holders can park outside our front door on the single yellow line by arrangement.
Allergies
The workshop space is in our open plan living space and is not nut free. Please let us know about any skin or food allergies before booking. We offer a dairy-free milk and gluten free snack alternative.
Minimum number no refund policy
To ensure we can always pay our creatives a fair fee, we require a minimum number of bookings for each workshop and for this reason bookings are non-refundable. Should we have to cancel due to low numbers, we will offer you the option to swap to an alternative date or workshop, or to request a refund.
We do our very best to avoid cancellations. Since we often get late bookings, we keep our workshops on sale for as long as possible. We realise that some of you travel from afar, so if you book a space and have not yet received an email confirming your workshop is going ahead and need to make plans for your trip, please get in touch before booking any travel or accommodation so we can update you on booking numbers. Or check in before booking.
Private workshop bookings
Most of our workshops are also available to book for: private get-togethers with family and friends; themed wedding and birthday celebrations; corporate team building and well-being purposes; and in-store retail events for your customers. If you’d like to know more please Email Lynn.

Our workshops are planned with adults in mind. Many are suitable for teenagers, but some may require under 16s to be accompanied for insurance purposes. Please check with us before booking.

The course will teach you to write clean and readable code and structure your app development that can easily be integrated with any coffee shop, fast food, or drink-serving service.</strong>
        <p>In this course, we will build a real online coffee shop ordering application using SwiftUI. You will learn how to build an application from scratch using iOS, SwiftUI, and XCode. The course explains how to write clean and readable code and structure our app development to be able to reuse the code for a long time.

As part of the course, we will cover concepts such as setting up the TabView, creating a model and dummy drinks, creating a HomeView model and Firebase repository, creating a Drinks row, Async image, the drinks detailed view, and a basket view model. We will create different views to include the basket view, empty basket view, and account view. You will learn to secure storage and save users to a keychain. We will advance to create a Firebase app, save the menu to Firebase, and set up a Firebase repository, create orders, and more.

Upon completion of the course, you will independently be able to build your very own coffee shop application that can choose items, place orders, pay, and save users to storage using Xcode, SwiftUI, and Firebase.</p>

The course will teach you to write clean and readable code and structure your app development that can easily be integrated with any coffee shop, fast food, or drink-serving service.
In this course, we will build a real online coffee shop ordering application using SwiftUI. You will learn how to build an application from scratch using iOS, SwiftUI, and XCode. The course explains how to write clean and readable code and structure our app development to be able to reuse the code for a long time. As part of the course, we will cover concepts such as setting up the TabView, creating a model and dummy drinks, creating a HomeView model and Firebase repository, creating a Drinks row, Async image, the drinks detailed view, and a basket view model. We will create different views to include the basket view, empty basket view, and account view. You will learn to secure storage and save users to a keychain. We will advance to create a Firebase app, save the menu to Firebase, and set up a Firebase repository, create orders, and more. Upon completion of the course, you will independently be able to build your very own coffee shop application that can choose items, place orders, pay, and save users to storage using Xcode, SwiftUI, and Firebase.
