She has her own method of creating the bronze sculptures which have sold all over the world but also has the flexibility to help you develop your own signature methods and style. You want to make a sculpture. There is an artist inside you. You have the idea and you have the creative urge.

Figurative Sculpture In this day long course we will explore all aspects of creating a life size clay sculpture of a characterful human face. We will also start to explore the creation of a ‘beautiful’ face that you will be able to take home to finish… it can take many hours to complete something as complex. We will be using a special armature unique to the Sculpture Workshop and a wonderfully forgiving specialist clay. We’ll explore how expression and emotion manifest on the face. This workshop is great fun and light hearted, we don’t use jargon or judgement, anyone of any ability can join us and have a brilliant time engaging with their own creative potential.

Join us for this free CPD workshop for educators seeking creative, art-based learning to develop oracy and critical thinking skills in their classrooms. This workshop is designed for educators who are keen to support the development of transferable communication skills. You do not need prior ceramics experience or art training to attend this session. Taking inspiration from our Transferer programme, this CPD workshop will support teachers who want to improve their students' oracy and critical thinking skills through the medium of clay.

Phoenix Pottery and Art Studio offers adult and family pottery classes, glass fusing, and calendar of art and creative workshops . Close to Warrington, Wigan and Surrounding Northwest area. Easy access from the motorway network . Only 20 miles from Manchester and Liverpool.

Suitable for complete beginners Age 15 plus Join Lynne from Pots of Magic to create your own ceramic Greenman plaque . During this 3 hour workshop you will be guided through each section using basic hand building and sculpting techniques . During the first 90 minutes you will sculpt and form the face ,with the opportunity to create your own unique character . There will then be a teabreak before you add the foliage to your Greenman Foliage will be provided however if you wish to personalise your plaque using leaves from your own garden please do not hesitate to do so . (Please note leaves are rolled into the clay to leave an imprint then cut out .therefore leaves with veins give best results ) Once finished your clay creation will dry out slowly for 2 weeks before under going its first kiln firing . Once bisque fired it will then be professionally glazed by Lynne and enter the kiln again for its final firing . Your final piece will be ready for collection 4 to 5 weeks later from Ainsdale .
