The Foundation was started in 1989 with a generous donation from Mrs Lucille Driscoll in memory of her late husband Sydney, who had been treated in the Department of Neuroscience at Preston in the 1960s by the first neurosurgeon at Preston; the late Mr Ken Tutton. She was delighted with the idea that the money which she had donated would be used to enhance neuroscience education and research. A Trust Fund was established as a registered charity and is administered by the Trustees who meet regularly. The late Mr Ken Tutton was one of the founder members of the Trust. Aims and objectives of the Trust. The aim is to build upon the Department’s reputation as a centre of excellence in the field of neuroscience, by continuing to develop and expand the facilities for education, training and research. These aims and objectives include a Neuroscience Library, an Annual Neuroscience Lecture, an Annual Neuroscience Award, support for Conference and Training Courses and funding for relevant Clinical or Laboratory Research.

The IT Centre is a charity based in Castle Douglas which helps people learn digital skills and provides refurbished devices across The Stewartry area of Dumfries and Galloway. Having no digital skills puts people at risk of being excluded from our digital society, and devices can be complicated and technology can be overwhelming. The IT Centre staff and volunteers support people to use computers and other digital devices through tailored, 1:1 coaching. For those on benefits and low incomes we offer our services for free and for those who can afford to pay we ask for a donation. Developing IT skills can help people remain independent, help them feel more included, help improve their life chances and wellbeing. The Bovey Tracey Swimming Pool Association is a Registered Charity run by a dedicated group of volunteers. The Pool is a 25 x 9.1 metre "open-air" heated pool. There is also a 3 x 3 metre Toddler Pool which is maintained at a constant 28 degrees Celsius. We are able to provide a disabled chair hoist on request to assist entry and exit from the pool. If you could offer the pool some of your time and skills we would be keen to hear from you. We are always in need of all kinds of support. Please contact us via email at boveypool@gmail.com if you think you can help us. We are grateful for anyone who uses our pool - the money goes to keep our facility open. Ticket sales are our biggest income in the year. Choosing Gift Aid when you come to the pool provides a tremendous benefit to the pool, and we'd ask all our taxpaying users to help us in this way. But we also need to fundraise to ensure our survival. Any size donation is most welcome.

Who we are? This community-lead Charity was formed in 2020 with the objective of improving social isolation and promoting racial harmony in Medway. We are an independent initiative who provide supplementary education to support the cultural diversity within our community. Our volunteers include a variety of qualified educators and professionals providing positive representation, with a shared passion for unity and youth work.   What we do? We offer workshops, classes and events for children aged 5-16 years, which address the educational gaps in history and highlight the positive contributions that have helped shape our society. Our volunteers encourage good citizenship and community cohesion, which broadens the understanding of ourselves and the wider world. We do this by creating cultural access points and increasing active engagement in areas such as: arts & culture, literature, history, music and sports.  Fun, interactive activities are planned and delivered on a monthly basis through a combination of structured lessons, practical play, and social interaction.

Hi I'm Katie, the face behind Sealy MacWheely. I am a passionate spinner, knitter and lover of all things bright and colourful! Sealy MacWheely began with very humble beginnings and came into being initially whilst I was a student to raise money for the brilliant charity, Childreach International, with whom I trekked through the Andes of Peru in the summer of 2013. Once the trek to the summit of Machu Picchu was complete I simply couldn't let go of my wee business and after graduating and moving down to the outskirts of the wonderful city of Glasgow I refreshed and rebranded and began the daunting task of vending at local craft markets. It didn't take long for my business to outgrow itself and soon I was driving across the country to larger yarn and fibre festivals and events and with a little hesitation and a lot of excitement I eventually quit my regular job and took up Sealy MacWheely full time. This of course led me to my wee Yarn & Fibre Shop which would never have existed had it not been for the incredible support of our amazing yarn community. With the help of a successful Kickstarter campaign in the autumn of 2018 I was able to move into my beautiful wee shop in Kirkintilloch where I could focus all my creative energy into sharing my love of fluff and colour! I am also passionate about ecology and the environmental impact of my business has been factored into every decision I make. Both the shop and my home where I do my dyeing are powered by 100% renewable energy and I use absolutely no single use plastics in my branded products. I am proud to announce that Sealy MacWheely has recently teamed up with Ecologi, meaning that for every purchase made both in the shop and online a tree will be planted in an effort to combat the climate emergency that our planet currently faces. Although the Covid 19 pandemic has been a bumpy ride the shop has recently moved to a new premises with an in-situ dye studio and I have absolutely no intention of giving up! In fact I have so many exciting adventures lined up for the next year that I can't wait to share with you so keep your eyes peeled!

Bounce Forward is a charity dedicated to the mental resilience of teenagers. Adolescence, a crucial developmental turning point, is the best time to learn psychological fitness.  We train teachers to teach our Healthy Minds curriculum, one lesson a week for five years for 11 – 16 year olds.
