Hull FC Community Foundation is the independent charity of professional rugby league side, Hull FC. Using the power of sport and the strong local influence, we make the biggest difference possible to the lives of vulnerable people through delivering needs led projects targeting four key areas: Participation, Education, Health, and Social Inclusion. As a registered charity, the Foundation ensures that the club’s work in the local communities is further enhanced through local strategic partnerships within the public, private and voluntary sector. Our mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of local people through physical activity, and to raise the aspirations and skills of young people for a better life through unique learning and training programmes. We have a passionate, dedicated team of professionally qualified coaches and tutors who recognise the vital role that sport and can play in engaging, educating and inspiring people of all ages and abilities. HOW WE HELP We are improving the lives of almost 40,000 people in the local community each year, with record levels of participation across our Rugby, School and Community programmes. Using the Hull FC brand, we can engage, inspire and motivate people that others cannot reach. We harness the local passion for rugby and use it to help disadvantaged children, young people, adults and families across our region. Accrington Stanley Community Trust is an award-winning, non-profit, self-funding registered charity (Number 1139575) and community organisation that has been working within the Hyndburn community since 2007. After becoming a registered charity and re-forming as a Community Trust in 2010, the organisation has seen an accelerated rise and growth. Accrington Stanley Community Trust was originally established under the banner of Football in the Community in 2007, with the aim to bring the professional club and their community closer together. Natural progression from Football in the Community resulted in the scheme being taken on to work alongside and under the guidance of the Football League Trust. Accrington Stanley Community Trust has expanded at a phenomenal rate and we now work in 4 key themed areas: Sports Participation, Education, Health & Wellbeing and Social Inclusion. Football and in particular, Accrington Stanley Football Club has the ability to engage people, improve community cohesion and raise the hopes and aspirations of the people of Hyndburn. As a Club we are committed to ensuring that we respond to local needs whilst working strategically in line with regional and national agendas. We all recognise that sport can play a prominent role in addressing major issues such as obesity, anti-social behaviour, health, employment and attainment. Through key partnerships and a robust multi-agency approach, we ensure that we can achieve our aims and objectives effectively and efficiently. Our partnerships work underpins the entire scheme delivery programme and enables us to work strategically within Hyndburn. These relationships enable us to engage with underrepresented and hard to reach groups.

Disability TrainingBascule Disability Training, was founded by Chris Jay. Chris is a recognised and prominent voice on the topic of disability awareness. Born with cerebral palsy, Chris has been a wheelchair user for over 20 years, and is an accomplished training facilitator, public speaker, guest spokesperson and writer on the topic of disability awareness. Prior to launching Bascule Disability Training, Chris worked as a Training Facilitator and Project Manager for the disability awareness charity- Enable Me, where he developed and delivered training programmes for businesses, universities and schools. He was later appointed as the Executive Chairman of the charity for three years where he steered the organisation back to its core mission of helping to raise awareness of disability in local, educational and business communities. His role as a Disability Awareness Trainer has allowed him to develop considerable knowledge and experience in assisting and supporting businesses and universities to develop organisational awareness through unique and bespoke training packages. He has worked with various organisations in numerous areas of business such as the banking and finance sector, (including Coutts Bank) and in the retail, education and the hospitality industry (including Brighton, Portsmouth and Southampton Universities). His support and staff development programmes, interactive modules and workshops have provided workforces with a firmer understanding of disability and its organisational benefits. Based in Southampton, Chris is a Director of Great Ballard School, near Chichester- an Independent co-educational prep school. He is also a Freeman of the City of London through the Worshipful Company of Educators and a member of the Chartered Management Institute.

South West Music School is a charity working with talented young instrumentalists, singers and composers aged 8 – 19 years in the South West of England. Due to the geographical nature of the South West, we are not building based but are a ‘virtual’ school working with young people on an individual basis in their local area. In addition, our students come together on a regular basis to collaborate, create, learn new skills and perform together. South West Music School is part of a national network of Centres of Advanced Training supported by the Department for Education Music and Dance Scheme for exceptionally talented young musicians. Funding provided by the DfE can ensure that each student has adequate resources to undertake involvement with SWMS and that all costs are met according to need (there is an optional section within our application form to help us determine your grant eligibility). South West Music School (SWMS) provides students with the same standard of music education as specialist music schools and junior conservatoires. The additional benefit of SWMS is that it allows students to stay in their existing education and continue to take part in other current musical (and non-musical) activities in their local communities. South West Music School covers each county in the South West region: Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Somerset, Bristol, Gloucestershire, BaNES and Wiltshire. How much does it cost? The cost of a place at SWMS depends on the specific programme and tailored package of activities provided for each student. We work with families to ensure we place students on the right programme and with the right level of support for ability level, age, musical interest, and budget. SWMS students have access to means-tested grants from the Department of Education’s Music & Dance Scheme. A full grant will cover the entire costs of a place with South West Music School, as well as providing additional financial support for activities such as instrumental tuition. PETA was founded in 1970 by Alex Zemenides who, at the time, was Managing Director of component manufacturing company Sealectro. At the time, Zemenides felt there was a lack of training and development opportunities for his staff in the local area. Training that could be tailored to his staff and business, that met industry and commercial standards and that didn’t have to work around a rigid syllabus or programme. Together with five other local businesses, he created the Portsmouth Engineering Training Association – PETA – that was based in Southsea, Portsmouth. The combined vision of this group was to establish an organisation, controlled by local business, that would be free from external influences to concentrate on the training and development of people employed, or about to be employed, in industry and commerce. As such, PETA was set up to be (and still is) a registered charity, directed by an executive council of leaders elected from our member base. There are no shareholders at PETA, only stakeholders. We operate on a self-financing basis and are non-profit making, which means all our funds are reinvested into the services and training we deliver. Whilst our heritage is in engineering, today, PETA offers over 200 courses and apprenticeship programmes in the most sought after professional, digital and technical skillsets – from management training to health and safety qualifications, IT skills and engineering. Today, PETA is one of the largest and most respected training providers on the south coast and we will continue to build on this reputation, transforming careers and building the next generation of business leaders and technical experts.
