Established in 2009, we are a small, friendly and professional school offering CPD and personal development courses for therapists, counsellors and coaches. In addition to our ongoing programme of short courses and workshops (usually delivered online), we offer a Diploma in Clinical Supervision and occasional Retreats for Therapists. As a delegate or student, we know that you will have a better learning experience when your own outcomes are being met, so we make sure our classes are small in order to ensure individual attention from our tutors. This means that our courses are tailored to suit you, and they are relaxed and informal - it's important to us that our students have fun whilst learning - and we have a strong emphasis on self-awareness, inclusion and respect. Principal Tutor Joanna Taylor is a UKCP Accredited Neuro-Linguistic Psychotherapist, Wellbeing Coach, Clinical Hypnotherapist, Clinical Supervisor and an INLPTA Certified Trainer of NLP.  She also has an interest in Ayurveda and Energy Psychology.  She is a an accredited member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and a Fellow member of the Association for Coaching (AC). Joanna lives in rural North Yorkshire, UK, with her dentist husband, John, and three canine members of staff who all feature frequently in her blog, The Teachings of Dog.  She is an international speaker and has had articles published in a number of dental and veterinary publications on the subject of stress and burnout. Joanna has a passion for ongoing personal and professional development, and this is reflected in her courses, which are constantly updated with the latest research. We operate within the Codes of Ethics and Practice of UKCP and the Association for Coaching (AC).

If you or someone you know has been told they have an illness and might not get better, then you may have heard of palliative care. This is the care that is given to patients with an illness for which there is no known cure. For some patients, this may mean that specialist care is required. Around half of our patients are learning to live with cancer. The remainder will have a diagnosis from a wide range of other illnesses such as heart disease, respiratory conditions, end stage kidney and liver disease and neurological illnesses. Our team consists of highly-experienced professionals ready to provide specialist palliative care to patients who have highly complex needs. We provide specialist nurses, doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, bereavement counsellors, social workers, complementary therapists and spiritual care support. All areas of Saint Catherine’s work are supported by a highly dedicated team of volunteers. We know that learning to live with an incurable, progressive illness goes beyond the treatment of the physical and practical. We know that people are likely to feel many different emotions throughout an illness: from fear and anger to anxiety and guilt. The feelings can be overwhelming at times for both patients and their families and friends. Our holistic approach aims at all times to provide individualised patient care, tailoring the delivery of that care to meet the needs of the patient and those close to them and in accordance with the elements of NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) guideline 138, providing support and guidance for emotional and spiritual wellbeing alongside the clinical care. Patients don’t need to come and stay at the hospice in order to access our services. We have teams that can visit a patient at home. Sometimes, patients may spend time at our Wellbeing Centre or at an outpatient clinic. At times patients may need the round-the-clock care and support provided by our In-Patient Unit. Our staff and volunteers provide a respectful space where patients can chat and laugh, make friends, and ask questions. We understand sadness and listen to fears. All of our hospice services are free of charge to patients and families.

A Bespoke Course The course is exclusively aimed at learners with Education, Health and Care Plans. 1 Year Programme The programme will run for 15 hours a week over 3 days and transitions young people into further education or prepares them for the workplace. A Range of Modules The mandatory modules include progression routes which focus on preparing for further study or employment. There is an extensive range of optional modules should a person want to expand their knowledge in a specific area. Functional Skills We offer separate qualifications in both Maths and English ranging from Entry Level 1 up to Level 2. The qualification helps to prepare people for further learning or develop their knowledge and skills in a work-related subject. Functional Skills English and Maths qualifications included where needed, levels from Entry 1 to Level 2. Bespoke course delivered within a small group setting based on preparing to transition for the following academic year. Seedlings Day Nursery and Pre-School is a new nursery situated on the edge of Scarborough town centre. We care for children from birth to aged 7 years of age. We are registered for 48 children with 8 of them being babies. Our moto is “a place to grow” which is linked to the previous use of the building which was the council nursery building where they grew the plants for the flower beds of Scarborough. The name Seedlings continues the history of the building. The owner Frances James has managed and owned nurseries since 1998 and so has a wealth of knowledge and experience. She also has another nursery In Scarborough called Kiddiwinks. Children feel safe and secure in a happy environment with staff who want to see them progress both emotionally and intellectually. At Seedlings we have staff that are teacher qualified and that have a breadth of experience in nurseries and with their own children.
