The history of establishing international standards began in 1946 when 65
delegates from 25 countries met to discuss the future of International
Standardization. In 1947, the ISO (International Standards Organization)
officially came into existence with 67 technical committees (groups of experts
focusing on a specific subject). Now, standardization has started to be a part
of our life, and most workplaces and living areas required it.
