I will be talking about neurodiversity amongst dancers and presenting you with ways to make your classes more neurodiversity friendly. How can you teach in a way that is effective to everyone who attends? How can you as a student make the most of your classes? It is our responsibility as dance tutors to ensure we support and welcome everyone who wants to dance. It is our responsibility to be informed and do better.

In this workshop, I explain the neurobiology of memory with a focus on motor memory. I provide techniques that can be applied and I access each student individually. Memory, as much as it seems, is not a singular process! The reason why someone struggles to memorise choreography can have many causes. See the 'about' section for workshop samples. Duration is adjustable and prices are negotiable, any questions email: substancianigra@neuroscienceofdance.co
How does the brain produce dance? What is the impact of dance on the brain?
In the workshops I provide the theory in a dynamic fashion, always applying it to practice promoting embodied cognition and equipping dancers with easy-to-apply techniques. In a fast-paced world where we are often disconnected from ourselves, my focus is to use the body as a tool of learning and give the what and the how in a practical and interesting way.
In the first part of the workshop, Sophia will explain the brain processes during the creative process and Bianca will provide us with practical tips by introducing us to her Two Can Do Method which is also based on neuroscience and other disciplines.
This is a course for everyone: non-dancers, dancers, health professionals, just anyone interested in knowling the benefits of dances at the psychological and neurological level. Part of this will be lecture and part of it will be practical with exercises that really tap and enchance those benefits. You will be able to take those movement techniques with you and apply to your day and practice.
