All materials and tools provided and you get to take your handmade by you item home. Workshop Gift Vouchers also available. Most of my workshops are held at The Barn, Usk Castle Chase, near Usk in Monmouthshire, South Wales NP15 1QX, but occasionally they run in other locations. I started weaving about 23 years ago when a lovely lady called Cat (Catherine Beaumont) showed me how to make the base of a basket From that moment on I have had a creative journey, working with and learning about willow. My beginnings were very part time, but in the last few years I've been dedicating much more of my life to the study and practise of this amazing material. My husband Brian and daughter Jaz have joined me in the journey and are now part of the teaching team. Brian has been teaching Conservation management and greenwood crafts for over 25 years and Jaz, nearly 30 now has been home educated and grown up with willow in her veins.

Hello. Welcome to my website. I am a basket maker and willow weaver based in Farnham, Surrey - England's Craft Town. I specialise in woven willow playhouses but I also make baskets which I sell at craft fairs and in the New Ashgate Gallery in Farnham. I am happy to consider commissions for baskets or garden structures including living willow. I love passing on my skills through teaching workshops to adults and children at various venues across Surrey and Hampshire. I can also deliver workshops in schools and to community groups. I live with my teenage daughter who is a keen potter and my husband who is possibly the only electrician in Surrey with a Masters degree in Electronic Engineering! His business is Circitas.

Julie at Pip Cottage is based in Lancashire and offers individuals, schools, community groups and organisations the opportunity to take part in creative workshops and training events using natural and recycled materials. I can also offer help with planning and developing productive green spaces for growing flowers, willow, herbs, fruit and veg, as well as developing sites for recreation and environmental education

the bleeding pig festival

The Bleeding Pig Cultural Festival was last held in 2019. Covid restrictions meant that it could not be held in 2020 or 2021. BUT we are delighted to say that we are working on Festival 2022. The Festival will be launched in The Brook, Portrane on Thursday 8th. September and finish on Sunday 18th September.

Courses make great presents; the memories and skills last long after the day itself and the hands-on real life experience is a perfect antidote to the stresses of the virtual world. All my courses are equally suitable for complete beginners and experienced woodworkers looking to expand their skills. Please note: you must be over 18 to attend these courses.

I’m Melanie, I deliver a range of creative art and craft workshops in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire. As an artist and craftsperson, I enjoy playing with fused glass and textiles. I’m inspired by the array of colour and texture found in nature. The natural wonders and beauty of the sky, water, trees, insects, flowers and the ever changing seasons never fail to amaze me and influence my creative work. I love learning new creative processes and spending time creating art for pleasure and relaxation. I’m a fully qualified secondary school Art and Design teacher with a BA Hons Degree in Fashion and Textiles. Up until the start of 2020 I worked in mainstream education as an Art Teacher for over fifteen years.
