Acroyoga is a physical practice that combines yoga and some acrobatic movements requiring at least a base and a flyer. At its essence acroyoga cultivates trust, active participation, mutual support, effective communication, body awareness and connecting with others through play. Acroyogagenie instructors teach the main principles of acroyoga while drawing on inspiration from various other disciplines, such as, contemporary dance movements, ballet and pilates. We focus on the process of shared inspiration, technical ability and refinement to produce aesthetically pleasing sequences which evolve into performance standard pieces.

My wonderful Mum was my inspiration for setting up Tracie’s Latin Club. She loved dancing and regularly went waltzing and jitterbugging during the war. She passed on the gift of a love for dance by taking me to Ballet and then Ballroom & Latin lessons. Having learnt salsa in London when it first hit the UK, my job took me to Southampton in 1994 where I found a very limited Salsa scene. I decided to teach Salsa on a Wednesday night to complement the existing club night run by Steve & Kathryn Tracey. My friend, Mish and I began teaching in May 1996, every Wednesday at Bannisters Ballroom, Hulse Road (now a block of flats). A few years later TLC became my full time occupation and I’ve never looked back. Little did I know that my hobby would change my life and culminate in a buzzing friendly Salsa scene in Hampshire, as well as expanding to include Argentine Tango, Ballroom & Latin, Bachata and Kizomba – as well as having my own fabulous dance studio. It gives me great joy to pass on the love of dance to others, as my Mum did to me, so please do come and join us.

Tippi Toes® Dance Company begins with warm-ups and stretching exercises as well as activities that encourage boys and girls to use their imagination. We then introduce ballet, tap, jazz or hip hop techniques using dance terms and examples to enhance their knowledge of the art. We incorporate our original dance music to further their dance experience. During each class we instruct the children on dances which will be performed at various times throughout the year. We offer different types of classes depending on the age of the dancer.

Sarah loves living in London and gets a real buzz from the city. She enjoys travelling, exercise and sharing her passion for yoga with others. After completing a BSc honours degree in psychology and counselling , she then trained as a primary school teacher. Sarah taught for 12 years and enjoyed introducing children to health and fitness. Sarah is a former Latin American and Ballroom dancer and she competed in the UK and abroad for many years. She also took training in ballet, tap and modern when she attended The BRIT Performing Arts and Technology School.

Central to our school is the use of bilingualism as our approach to teaching Deaf children which combines both British Sign Language (BSL), the language of the Deaf community, and English, the language of the hearing community. We value these languages equally and want our children to become equally fluent in both. Through assisting our children in becoming bilingual the aim is that they are comfortable in both deaf and hearing communities.

Confidance Performing Arts is an established and exciting school for dance, acro and theatre arts in Chryston, Glasgow. Our aim is to create a fun, yet disciplined environment in which our students can develop skills in dance,acro and musical theatre. Our vision is to offer the highest standard of training possible to children from as young as 2 and half years old to 18. Our team of wonderful teachers will endeavour to use their combined experience, both as teachers and industry professionals, to help produce fun, progressive and inspiring lessons where the children will learn not just performing arts but life skills as well. All of our teachers are fully qualified and have worked in the entertainment arena as professionals in dance, choreography, musical theatre, Acro, film and TV. We offer classes in Tap, Ballet, Modern Jazz, Theatre Craft, Commercial, Acro, Lyrical, Musical Theatre, Boys Street Dance, Competative classes and Private lessons. We follow the IDTA, RAD and ACROBATIC ARTS syllabus. We pride ourselves in having a 100% pass rate for our IDTA and RAD examinations, with a large majority passing with Distinction/Honours Confidance instructs and inspires individuals to excel in dance, singing and acting. Our focus is on building strong confident and technical all-round performers, while encouraging a positive and comfortable atmosphere in class as well as giving our students opportunities to gain experience in shows, competitions master classes and events with high production values.

It all began in 1999 - frustrated by my lack of progress following a cycling accident - I stumbled across a piece in a health periodical about Pilates. It made complete sense. Pilates had found me. I chose to train with Michael King and, alongside his partner Malcolm, I would travel to the City of London over a two year period. Qualifying to teach both mat work Pilates and individual tuition. My love and devotion to the Pilates method has never dimmed. A bit about Michael: Michael was originally a dancer at the London School of Contemporary Dance with the newly formed Pineapple Dance Studios, Convent Garden London. Two years later he was offered a position in Texas managing the Pilates studio at the Houston Ballet Company where he stayed until 1990. During this time sponsored by the Houston Ballet, Michael traveled across the USA visiting and training at studios. In New York, he studied with Corola Trier and with Romana Kryzanowksa at the original Pilates Studio. Michael also worked in the Voight Centre in Los Angeles for five years teaching fitness programs as as well as at many other Pilates Studios including Winsor Pilates in Los Angeles. He moved back to Europe in 1995, where following a two year contract in Switzerland, he returned to London.

Duet Academy of Dance was established in 1997 with classes held in Glen Parva. All lessons are given under the personal tuition of the principal teacher, Miss Sara, who has been teaching for more than 30 years and is a fully qualified, registered teacher of the British Theatre Dance Association (BTDA). We are delighted to have recently welcomed former Duet dancer, Miss Lyd, to the teaching faculty. Miss Lyd brings a wealth of performance experience being actively involved in a wide variety of shows at The Little Theatre. MIss Lyd taken part in the annual pantomimes for the past 10 years, 8 of which as dance captain. She is also a qualified zumba instructor. Lessons are held in ballet, tap, modern jazz, acrobatics and stage performance. All students are given the opportunity to take examinations leading to accredited qualifications and to take part in our annual show and medal tests focusing on performance skills. Lessons are structured to improve your child's social and listening skills, develop confidence, build self-esteem and assist with their physical development and mental well-being. For the younger children we have lots of dancing fun, singing, making friends and is a brilliant introduction to music and movement to help them to appreciate the joy of dance from an early age. Our focus for all age groups is on building confidence, learning new skills and having fun. We teach children from 3 years of age to adults and take great pride in seeing them excel as they progress their journey in dance.

Classes are taught to mixed abilities in small groups on the floor or at the ballet barre. They are supervised by qualified insured instructors and are open to anyone over 16 years who wishes to improve their fitness and body shape. Each class lasts 55 minutes – begins with warm-up exercises and continues through a comprehensive range of moves, thoroughly using all muscle areas including mobilising and stretching. The exercises are strenuous without being aerobic, achieving targeted results as the clients are encouraged to work at their own pace. All levels of ability and fitness are taken into account.
