I have always had a passion for learning and supporting others to achieve personal and professional success. As a former Headteacher, I know the tremendous expectations that can be placed upon schools and their staff. I embraced my Headship with enthusiasm and ambition though at times I often felt isolated, insecure and exhausted. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to invest in coaching as part of my leadership development.  It was transformational. Coaching enabled me to improve professionally and create positive change for others. Working with my own coach, I learnt how to work effectively, manage change and remove or overcome any barriers that were holding me back. I became able to balance the demands of an intensive job with a young family and feel far more confident and energized. As a direct result of my experience I wanted to ensure all educators had the opportunity to experience coaching and  build their leadership skills to create success for themselves and inspire their teams and school community.  Feeling the experience of coaching for myself and seeing the positive impact it has on others is the reason I became a qualified coach. I know leadership can be tough, but I also believe it can be the most enjoyable and rewarding role you will ever have. Coaching reminds us of what we value and why we love what we do. Whatever challenges you face as a leader, I can assure you learning coaching is the best decision you will ever make.

Set up in 1995, Stonebridge Associated Colleges was initially intended to help people qualify in complementary therapies, such as reflexology and aromatherapy. Vicki is a qualified teacher with over 20 years’ experience in schools, colleges and universities. She worked as a secondary school teacher for a number of years before working with students with additional needs. After several years running programmes for young people and adults in the FE sector, Vicki undertook a Masters in Education, specialising in Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLDs), along with additional training to assess for dyslexia. She is also a qualified SENCO and worked for several years as an Advisory Teacher for the local authority. Vicki currently works part-time in a HE setting assessing and tutoring individuals with specific learning difficulties. Each year she assesses over 80 students for Disabled Students Allowance and continues to offer advice and assessments to a number of local schools. Vicki is the current Chair of the Dorset PATOSS group. Vicki lives in Swanage and relaxes by walking in the Purbeck hills with her dog Poppy, pottering in her tiny garden and acting as roadie to her musical teenage sons. She helps out in the family bookshops whenever she can and has provided training on dyslexia to booksellers from across the UK. MEd. (Hons) Geography Alice Humpheson fullsizeoutput_461d Alice has significant experience of helping adults and young people realise their potential, having worked in a range of educational settings including universities, colleges and adult community learning for nearly 20 years. Initially teaching IT, maths and English to a wide range of learners, Alice later trained to specialise in specific learning difficulties where she gained a Masters from the University of Southampton and qualified to both teach and assess individuals with dyslexia and other SpLDs. Alice is a keen advocate of assistive technology and strongly believes that individuals are far more likely to achieve when they are provided with the right tools, enabling them to use existing strengths to overcome challenges. As a current SpLD practitioner and study skills tutor for university students, Alice has plenty of opportunity to develop and maintain her understanding of the challenges that individuals with a SpLD face, and this insight helps inform her work as an assessor. Alice has 2 children and lives in Mudeford. When she’s not working, Alice enjoys paddle boarding and exploring the New Forest either by foot or on her bicycle. “I’ve always held the belief that we are all creative beings, and that given the right conditions, everyone is able to explore their strengths and reach their full potential.” Inspired at a young age to pursue creative disciplines, Tina began her career as a design and fine arts teacher and tutor. Working in further education colleges in impoverished and crime-riddled neighborhoods in the UK, she quickly encountered the challenges inherent in supporting students that had complex needs. These were young people struggling with violence and trauma, drug and alcohol addiction, low self-esteem and, in some cases, undiagnosed neurodiversity. They struggled to learn in the same way as other students did and were often marginalized by an academic system that measures success solely through targets and standardized tests. Tina quickly realized that no matter the resources or skills of staff available, when individuals are not emotionally and psychologically stable, they simply cannot excel. Driven by a deep compassion and a struggle she could understand, having grown up with violence and unrecognized neurodiversity in her own family, Tina sought ways to create an environment where young people could thrive and flourish, access their strengths and develop confidence. “I’ve always believed that every individual has their own unique strengths and in the right environment every person can get to know what those strengths are.” Training in counselling for drug addiction and Neuro-Linguistic Programming provided a foundation for a more holistic approach. She saw the success that her students experienced when they felt supported in a safe haven; a stress-free space of true presence and non-judgment where they could explore themselves freely through their creative process and develop confidence.
