The IMI Four Wheel Alignment course is 2 1/2 days in duration and is aimed at Technicians involved with carrying out light vehicle wheel alignment. It is advised that candidates should have a minimum of 3 months practical wheel alignment experience but courses of longer duration can be arranged for those people requiring it. Who is this course for? ​ This Level 6 Depilation course is designed for anyone looking to have a career in the waxing industry and allows for progression on to Intimate Waxing and Advanced Waxing Skills. SQA Level 6 Award in Depilation provides knowledge and practical competence in health & safety within the salon and waxing and is regulated by SQA. The strategy for delivery of this unit is based upon a combination of online theory, and autonomous learning, workshops and practical sessions. This is delivered over 6 sessions. The final stage is an assessment which is submitted to SQA and finally your certificate will be issued. In this unit you will develop the skills required to remove hair from various areas on the face and body. You will gain knowledge of skin and hair structure, hair growth, causes of excess hair growth, hair types, contra-indications, special care conditions and contra-actions. Your practical skills will be developed by consulting with clients to develop treatment plans then preparing for and performing depilation treatments You will give clients homecare and aftercare advice and evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment in relation to technique and product selection. You will demonstrate knowledge of and adherence to relevant health and safety procedures; appearance which reflects organisational and industry standards and effective communication and consultation techniques. You will be assessed by answering structured questions in closed-book conditions to demonstrate your understanding of essential knowledge relating to depilation and will be observed carrying out depilation treatments on a minimum of six areas of the face and body on four different clients. Two of the performances must demonstrate multiple treatment areas. Treatment areas must include Face: upper lip and eyebrow; Body: underarms and bikini; Limbs: half leg and full leg. An assessor observation checklist must be used to provide evidence of performance supported by an accurately completed client consultation record completed by the learner. Practical performance must be carried out in a commercially acceptable time. Communicating appropriate information to clients, explaining and reassuring during treatment sessions and giving aftercare advice and homecare advice will be an essential aspect of competence. You should be fully aware of a range of active listening techniques in order to relate and respond to others in the most appropriate and effective way, adapting language, register and style to suit their purpose and clientele. In addition to the specific vocational skills developed and assessed you will have the opportunity to develop generic skills which will enhance their employability skills profile, eg customer care skills, communication skills, time management. The IMI Level 2 Award in MOT Testing is the second stage in becoming a qualified MOT tester. It was developed alongside the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) and is designed to equip learners with the qualification, knowledge and skills necessary to carry out and accurate and repeatable MOT Test Routine. Once you have successfully completed and passed this award, the final stage (stage 3) will be to complete a VT8 demonstration MOT test with a DVSA assessor to receive your certificate of competence. This will normally be conducted in your own Vehicle Testing Station (VTS) and successful completion will allow you to commence testing with immediate effect. What you will achieve Successful completion of the IMI Level 2 Award in MOT Testing (Classes 4 and 7), will give you a valuable academic qualification recognised by the DVSA that demonstrates your skills and knowledge in conducting MOT testing. Who Should Attend The IMI Level 2 Award in MOT Testing (Classes 4 and 7), has been developed for individuals who would like to improve their career by becoming qualified MOT Testers. The course is run over four days with the final assessments being conducted on day 4. Pre-course training material will be sent through 2 weeks before start date to complete prior attendance. The assessments consists of an online test of 40 questions and a demonstration MOT where you will be observed carrying out a full MOT demo test. The theory part of the test is ‘open book’ which means you will be able to use reference materials such as the MOT Testers Manual during the test. The pass mark for this test is 80%. Learners wishing to undertake this course MUST poses a good standard of written and spoken English as all MOT training and testing is conducted in English.
