Every Wednesday at 18:15 – 18:55 The violin is a versatile and expressive instrument, perfect for players of all ages. At M&L School of Performing Arts, we equip our beginner violinists with essential techniques to play a range of styles, from classical to contemporary. Whether you’re new to the violin or have some experience, we offer a supportive and structured learning environment. Our group violin lessons foster skill development and a love for music. The lessons focus on bowing technique, finger positioning, reading music, rhythm exercises, and playing both solo and ensemble pieces. Playing in a group helps improve performance skills, builds confidence, and encourages collaboration. We welcome students of all ages and abilities, providing a fun and engaging atmosphere for families to learn and grow together through music. A simple pattern drafting course for anyone wanting to draft patterns for themselves or others. Great for teachers of GCSE and A Level Fashion & Textiles for both Art & Design and D&T.

All artist at one time or another will feel the need for inspiration and motivation and what better way than immersing yourself in a painting break, Studio views overlooking the sea in Bournemouth. Inspiring scenery and our special breaks are a little different. You will receive help and guidance from Three professional artists over the course of the break. Covering different techniques and different subject matter. There will also be demonstrations to get those artist instincts tingling. This is a great way to rejuvenate and develop your art by immersing yourself in one of our much loved TRIO breaks. No Matter what creative stage you’re at in your artistic journey, there is something for every ability on offer.

A single day knife making course is a great way to make yourself an item that will last a lifetime, on this one day course we forge a small knife with a simple ash handle. A knife is one of the oldest tools ever made by humanity and it is one that invokes many emotions to people when they see and use it for a productive task. When doing a knife making course here at Bearded Pig Forge we will discuss the fine details of a knife and how they are made as well as the history of forging them.  On the course you will learn the basics of forging a blade and heat treating them in order to get the best results from the high carbon steel, we will also be learning how to fit and shape handles by using a burn through technique to attach the blade to the handle. Courses are £165 Per person per day.  I run a strict cancellation policy. If you cannot attend the date you have booked please contact me within three weeks and I will rebook your course for free, If you contact me after this deadline you will lose your place. Refunds are not available. No under 18s  If you have a physical gift voucher it must be presented on the first day of a course.
