Fun with felt flowers gives beginners all the basic information to learn felting around a resist. In the three and a half hours, students will make two different flowers, using different techniques, along with different centres. Workshops start at 10am. I can teach up to nine people here and I can also travel within 20 miles if someone wants a group of friends (minimum 5 participants) in their own house or school. Fabulous idea for a hen party! Please note, though, I do charge mileage. If you have a larger group (say WI or class parents) I am happy to run workshops for up to 20 people in your own venue. My workshops are not timetabled, so there is a great deal of flexibility on dates - just get in touch and we'll sort out a day to suit us both!Please also check out my other listings for Workshops in a Wallet. With this 2 hour workshop, you will learn to make your own lampshade. You can choose from our wide range of over 1400+ fabrics to make a lampshade. You can match this to your home decor if you so wish.

In this workshop, your child will create a selection of New Years Eve themed crafts including a rosette and 2024 calendar! The will be a break for squash and a snack and also a mini New Year countdown. This workshop is aimed at age 5+ and you may drop them off or stay for the session. Any age is also welcome along if you’re happy to craft with your little one, there is a 10% discount for all siblings. I will also be running Little Crafters session aimed at age 4 and under in the morning. In this workshop, your chid will create their own Christmas stocking using a variety of festive stencils and craft trims! We will also have a mini Christmas themed craft as well as a break for squash and a snack. Learn mosaic crochet in Surrey - this is an immersive 4 x 2 hour course running on Tuesday evenings in Farnham.

This is a full day intensive workshop which will teach you the processes involved in photo etching, including preparing the metal for etching, transferring the designs onto the metal using press and peel (P&P) paper and how to use specific etching solutions to cut the designs into the metal. This course will allow you to broaden your design process so that you can add some intricate textures to your copper and silver jewellery designs. You will be provided with a set amount of materials including copper sheet to practice the process and a 4cm by 4cm piece of silver sheet to create a silver textured pendant during your session. WHEN: Sunday 3rd November 10-5pm WHERE:  Workshop 925 based at The Mayford Centre, just outside of Woking and very close to Guildford. Alternatively instruction on where to purchase P&P paper and how to print your own designs onto it will be sent out prior to your course date to those of you who wish to etch your own designs. You will be etching the majority of the day, however if you would like to create a finished design, we can accommodate this, you can do some etching in the morning and create a design in the afternoon. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: None, all abilities are welcomed. This course is a great introduction to etching for those who have a vast experience in jewellery making but have not yet tried this technique as well as beginners looking to create beautiful textural pieces of jewellery. Our small classes mean we are able to provide each student with the support they require. CLASS SIZE: 6 WHAT IS INCLUDED? All tools and consumables are supplied Please bring refreshments as we are no longer able to provide them The cost of this course includes copper sheet to practice the technique and a 4cm by 4cm section of silver sheet. The price also includes a selection of patterns printed on P&P paper to use during your course.  WHAT TO BRING: For safety reasons, during each class, you are required to wear appropriate footwear, we request that no open toed shoes are worn within Workshop 925. Long hair should also be tied back when working with the equipment. You may also wish to bring a notebook. We have handouts for many demonstrations, but there are always many tips and tricks given verbally by the tutor, which some might like to keep note of. Little Crafters is a craft session run by Make, Do & Trend for 18 months-4 year olds. We have a selection of trays out with different crafts to do alongside your child. Each month there will be a new theme with this special on New Years Eve! Your little one will take home at least 4x crafts based on the current theme as well as a snack bowl to have at the end of the session. We will also have a mini New Years Eve countdown before snack time! Tea/ coffee and biscuits will also be provided for the grown ups. Instructions Children are to be supervised at all times. Aprons are available when painting but please be aware that clothes may get messy. Siblings not participating in the crafts are welcome along for free.

Ruth has over twenty years of Wood Carving and Pyrography experience and will guide you step by step to create a 2d Relief Carving on a solid piece of Local Wood using traditional gouged and mallets or a design drawn and burnt into the wood. The workshop will take place in an outdoor studio space set on the grounds of the 48 acres Birtley Estate.
