With the range of materials and surfaces in modern vehicles, navigating the most efficient way to care for interiors is sometimes difficult. Learning the chemistry behind stain removal, the correct tools for the job and how best to employ them, and how to deal with unusual and stubborn tasks is the aim of this course. You will cover: Interior materials - identifying, cleaning and their issues. Removal of components for deep cleaning, including seats, trim and steering wheels. Cleaner Chemistry and how it applies to different stains. Vacuum, steam and wet extraction technique and efficiency. Specific stain removal; such as Biro ink, oils, sand, tannins, paints, and hard-to-shift materials, such as sand, and chewing gum. Pet hair removal and allergen information. Glass cleaning and access. Odour removal and biocidal sanitising treatments. Surface protection - hard surface, leather and fabric protection and application. Screens and delicate surfaces - including HUDs, touch controls and binnacles. Craft workshop using a variety of pre-cut glass materials including rods, frit and frit balls to transform into your choice of a bowl, hanging or free standing wave form. Fused Glass Workshop – Flower Garden Designs I want to share my 15+ years of experience with you. This fused glass workshop is held at my Derbyshire studio and gallery space in the middle of Wirksworth near Matlock. About this fused glass workshop Whether you create a design inspired by wild flower gardens, fields of Poppies, a layer of Bluebells or hills covered in Heather you’ll enjoy playing with glass shapes and textures to create your own abstract and colourful creation. Choose from 3 options of pre cut glass bases and create either a bowl, sculptural wave or hanging panel. Round Bowl – approx. 17cm. Wave – approx. 32cm across x 7 tall. Round Hanging – approx. 18cm Get making by snapping glass rods, sprinkling crushed glass frit and place frit balls for your colourful flower blooms. The main thing to remember is to have fun! You will play with different types of decorative glass elements and learn a little about how the kiln firing will change them. Simply complete your design during the session and leave it at the studio for me to fire, finish and clean up for you. We will make arrangements to pick up a few weeks later or I can post your finished piece at cost. I will talk through all the Health & Safety in the session but I want you to know now, you will be handling precut glass pieces, they have pointy ends but with the right handling, they won’t hurt you. Recommended for ages 13+, all under 16s to be accompanied by a paying adult. Located between Canterbury and Ashford, join us at our ancient woodland camp on the beautiful Kent Downs for this introductory 1 day bushcraft course. We’ve put together this 1 day bushcraft course for people whose time is precious but would like to gain a thorough grounding in the key skills of outdoor bushcraft and survival. So we’ve created a package that will ensure that you leave us with simple, repeatable skills that’ll give you the confidence to broaden your horizons in the great outdoors. During your time spent with us on this 1 day course, you will: - Learn how to safely use a knife - Build a debris shelter and gain an understanding of the design principles involved - Have plenty of practise creating a flame using matches, fire steels, fire pistons, wire wool & a battery, solar mirrors, flint & steel, chemicals - Make char cloth, create a tinder bundle and blow an ember into flame - Find, filter and purify your own water - Go for a woodland walk to gain an insight into some of the trees and plants around us and what they can be used for - Gather your own materials and light a fire following a method that will work in all weather conditions. At the end of the course you will have a good working knowledge of the skills needed to enjoy your time in the woods or enhance your camping or outdoor activities. About us and the venue: Jack Raven Bushcraft was founded in 2011 and we've been delivering bushcraft, craft and foraging courses since then from our 30 acre private ancient woodland on the Kent Downs in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Hello all you interested crocheters out there! Hungry for a new crochet stitch to take your crochet to the next level? Come and join us here at Stitch! and learn mosaic crochet with the wonderful Kay Dudman. This is a technique that gives you the opportunity to use two different colours without changing wool. You can create beautiful geometric designs with whatever colour combinations you like. During this workshop you will be covering inset and overlay mosaic techniques. You will be working on a panel learning the these basic techniques that you can continue at home to make a blanket or you can incorporate it into other projects. the stained glass summer class at rainbow glass studios August 7th - 11th 2023 is designed to teach all the traditional techniques needed to make a large stained glass panel. This class is for all abilities and is carried out in a well equipt studio in London.

In this unique course with tutor Sarah Reece you will learn how to cut two shapes of stones: The first will be a free form shape with a flat edges as shown in the images. The second the focus will be how to create a traditional cabochon. This stone will be have a flat base with a rounded top. This will be cut from rough stone which you can each select from Sarahs beautiful collection. You can decide the shape and size and which part of the stone you wish to use. The class size is limited to just 1 student. So you do not breathe in harmful rock dust during the process, you will be cutting the stone while it is in water. With this in mind, please wear older clothes, and waterproof shoes – wellies are advised as it is not a clean or dry activity. Water sprays from the rotating wheels as you are working. We will provide you with a waterproof apron. This course is an excellent introduction to stone cutting. It allows you to step into the world of Lapidary where you can cut and create any shaped stone you desire, you won’t be beholden to the shop bought stone. This means your projects and settings can become completely unique as per your designs. You will be working with a Cab King 6″ and the Diamond Pacific Pixie Cabbing Machine. We have factored in a 30 minute break for lunch during our Saturday sessions. Full info below… When: Sarah is available at weekends and during the week. Sarah has priced up different varies in generous sizes ranging from £3-£20. If you would rather not buy stone to work with, no problem, Sarah has plenty of beautiful flint that you can use instead. What to bring: For safety reasons, during each class, you are required to wear appropriate footwear, we request that no open toed shoes are worn within the workshop. Wellies or older waterproof shoes advised. Long hair should also be tied back when working with the equipment. You may also wish to bring a notebook. There are always many tips and tricks given verbally by the tutor, which some might like to keep note of. Also pack your own snacks and drinks for the session if required.
