Are you are looking for something a little different from the usual portraits, or pet portraits?
You’ve come to the right place!
You can commission a slightly quirky portrait painted in oils and acrylics as well as sketches that will capture the special qualities of the sitter or of your pet.
The Wyllie Fox can magically transform your photographs and find a suitable painting method, in the style of old masters such as Rembrandt, Goya, Impressionist Artists, Manet, Van Gogh ….
Using traditional techniques in oils or acrylic paint the Wyllie Fox will portray the personality of your human pet. You will have an original pet portrait of your best friend to take pride of place in your home.
If you would prefer a person or pet portrait sketch, do view the examples above. These sketches are hand drawn using an IPad and pencil with Digital Drawing software. They will be printed using Bockingford paper and will include a cream coloured mount. You can order a sketch of your pet from as little as £75.
Do you need the painting to fit in with your interior style or colour scheme? Just let us know and send in a photo of the intended wall space when you receive the commissioning form.
Gift certificates can also be purchased and can be requested by filling in the form below. These make great presents for commissioning a portrait of a family member, a portrait of your partner, your children, grandchildren friends or even colleagues for a special occasion.

Commissioning a Pet or Human Portrait in Oils or Acrylics FAQ’s
What do you need from me?
Initially, just fill in the form below to discuss your requirements. You will then receive a commissioning request form by email.
You can then send your Human / Pet’s Photographs and tell us more about your about their personality, history and anything you feel is relevant to the painting, such as size, paint medium or painting surface.
Commissioning a portrait is a two way process. It would be helpful if you can describe some of the things he or she likes to do, wear or favourite objects or environment. One or two photographs will be required. The backgrounds aren’t as important as seeing the person or pet clearly and in detail. A photo looking straight at the camera will usually work best. Your photographs and the description you give will inspire the Wyllie Fox. She will then get to work on how best to portray their.
Will I be kept updated with the progress?
Yes. You will receive an initial rough sketch sent by email which will also show the setting and background. You may also be shown reference photographs to illustrate the style of painting. If you’re happy to proceed you will be asked to confirm this before the portrait painting is started.
You will receive regular updates on the painting’s progression and you will have opportunities to provide feedback.
Portrait Estimates:
Oil or Acrylic on Canvas:
An A3 sized painting on canvas with one person / pet – £495
An A2 sized painting on a custom made panel or on canvas – £645
Portrait Sketches
A mounted A4 sized print of a digital drawing – starting from £75.
Should you require a framed print, you can request a quote for this when you send back a commissioning form.
Other sizes are available and can be requested.
These estimates are for one pet or one person. Actual quotes will be given for your commission depending on the complexity and size.
Payment schedule
For oil or acrylic paintings an initial payment of £30 will be required to cover the initial rough sketch for the final painting and also for research time. This initial payment will be refunded from the final fee should you agree to go ahead with the commission. The fee will be discussed with you (see estimates above), and will be based on the complexity and size of the artwork.
On agreeing the rough sketch, proposal and fees, a 50% deposit of the total amount (including delivery charges) is required before the portrait is started.
On completion, the remaining balance will be due. Your painting will be delivered when the final payment is received.
Will I own the Copyright of the portrait?
No. The Artist Francesca Wyllie (also known as The Wyllie Fox) reserves all rights. You should not reproduce the original painting as this will breach the Artists’ copyright. If you wish to purchase the copyright this must me discussed and will incur an additional fee.
Mainland Postage to UK:
Oil or acrylic Paintings – £15 signed for (insured) courier.
Mounted Sketches – £8.99 signed first class post.
Posting quotes will be given for areas outside of Mainland UK
How long will my portrait take?
Your painting will normally take between 1 – 3 weeks to complete. However, the deadline will be agreed with you before the commission is started.
Please also bear in mind that an original portrait which has been painted in oils can take a while to dry so should be handled carefully and will normally be sent one week after completion.
If you would prefer a painting in acrylics please specify this as this can be posted almost immediately.

There are shops and cafes nearby to grab them and you can also pair up with others to order takeaway to the venue if you like.</p><p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">Schedule: The day will start off with having coffe and breakfast together during an introduction into Positive Psychology, followed by a Mindful Journalling and Colour exercise.</p><p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">Then you will be intived to take part in creating an artwork with your eyes closed, designed to conquer the inner judge.</p><p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">Followed by this we will break off for lunch and you can either enjoy lunch that you brought in the park nearby, pop over to the cafe across the road or enjoy the snacks provided.</p><p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">The second half of the day will be all about creating your joyful masterpiece!</p><p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">After theses you will engage in a warm up painting activity to ease into colour mixing, explore tools and let go of judgement (such as the &#39;I&#39;m not an artist&#39; mindset, - we are all artists deep within.)</p><p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">The next exercise will be during our walk in nature. You will be asked to look for things that bring you joy, then pick your favourite, which will be the basis of your colour palette. This exercise will help you refocus you attention to positive experiences. WHAT HAPPENS IN THIS CLASS?
Spend a day filled with Positive Psychology and Abstract art exercises helping you to cultivating mindfulness, joy and take home your own large masterpiece!
This one day art & wellness retreat is designed to help you let go of inner judgement, refocus your attention to positive experiences and immerse yourself in the flow of creating art.
This session is held at The Twelfth House in Walthamstow where we have our very own room with loads of natural light, in an intimate group of 10 maximum.
Tickets include unlimited tea, coffee, and non alcoholic refreshments, snacks, a canvas bag (which you will be encouraged to paint on with your left over paints on your tools), with all materials, an a5 sized workbook and a deep edge 61x45.5cm canvas.
You are also welcome to bring in your favourite alcoholic /non alcoholic refreshments with you too. There are shops and cafes nearby to grab them and you can also pair up with others to order takeaway to the venue if you like.
Schedule: The day will start off with having coffe and breakfast together during an introduction into Positive Psychology, followed by a Mindful Journalling and Colour exercise.
Then you will be intived to take part in creating an artwork with your eyes closed, designed to conquer the inner judge.
Followed by this we will break off for lunch and you can either enjoy lunch that you brought in the park nearby, pop over to the cafe across the road or enjoy the snacks provided.
The second half of the day will be all about creating your joyful masterpiece!
After theses you will engage in a warm up painting activity to ease into colour mixing, explore tools and let go of judgement (such as the 'I'm not an artist' mindset, - we are all artists deep within.)
The next exercise will be during our walk in nature. You will be asked to look for things that bring you joy, then pick your favourite, which will be the basis of your colour palette. This exercise will help you refocus you attention to positive experiences. Where attention goes, grows!

During this fun session first Anna will demonstrate abstract painting techniques on the surface of your choice. Participants can either follow Anna layer by layer or work individually and create their own abstract interpretation using a range of equipments.
This workshop is perfect for you if you would like to creatively engage your mind and detach from the everyday worries in a relaxing environment.

Join us for a FREE Tea 'N Chat with Textile artist and teacher LINDA HARVEY who talks about her work.
We are excited to have the immensely talented mixed-media textile artist Linda Harvey join us for our April Tea 'N Chat event. With over 25 years of experience in both teaching and creating, Linda brings a deep well of knowledge and a true passion for her craft. As the Head of Textiles at Archbishop Holgate's School in York and a dedicated member of York Textile Artists and The Society for Embroidered Work, Linda's commitment to her art is truly inspiring.
On the night, during the event, we will be running a mini competition to win one of Linda's new Books ‘INSPIRED BY YOU’ 100 Days of Textiles Art



Linda’s artwork is a mesmerizing fusion of rustic textures and innovative techniques. Drawing inspiration from her travels, she transforms photographs into expressive, abstract textile creations. Her work beautifully reflects her love for color and texture, incorporating elements such as hand-felted backgrounds, free-motion embroidery, intricate layering, and rust dyeing.

LINDA HARVEY  Textile Artist and Head of Textiles at Archbishop Colgate School, York

Linda studied Textiles and Surface Design at University Centre Somerset, graduating in 1994. She is a textile artist and Head of Textiles at a York secondary school and a member of York Textile Artists and The Society for Embroidered Work, which promotes and supports the best in stitched art worldwide.
The inspiration for her work mainly comes from the places she visits, taking photographs of anything that catches her eye. These photographs give a starting point from which her work evolves, often working on several pieces at a time, as she enjoys an expressive and experimental way of working.
Linda is inspired by rustic textures and the ageing process, drawn to anything corroded and tarnished and immediately seeing how it can be turned into a textile art piece. Colour and texture are the key elements in her work.



The Textiles Skills Centre Associates are a team of volunteers that manage the social media platforms and website, and offer support, mentorship and advice to textile teachers and trainees. We organise free resource networking events each month (Tea 'N Chat) and are always on hand to help and encourage when needed.

Together we&rsquo;ll explore ways to &nbsp;create work that reflects your individual interests, passion, and point of view, no matter your experience level. The course content is delivered over seven live Zoom sessions, in a small, welcoming group with plenty of opportunities for interaction. We teach over 45 different paper craft and mixed media techniques. Each course is carefully constructed to help you develop your crafting skills and knowledge.
Crafting and our courses are mindful, taking us away from the day-to-day. Participants have consistently reported improvements in their wellbeing. Anyone who wants to learn new skills can join our programmes. No previous experience of papercrafting or mixed media work is needed. A standalone 10 week/session course that will introduce you to the basic materials, tools, equipment and techniques used in paper crafting and mixed media work and to Craft4Smiles C.I.C and our tutors. Anyone who would like to get creative in their journals and use different creative techniques while slowing down, appreciating present moments and dreaming about the future.
What material do I need to get started:
Over the 6 weeks we will be exploring different media - acrylics, watercolours, distress inks etc, but it is up to you which medium you would like to use and have fun with.
Apart from journaling techniques, each week we will explore one self-care topic:
