This advanced phlebotomy course will allow you to receive practical demonstrations and hands-on training as a part of the practical training to support your role. At the beginning of the session, you will be required to observe the experienced trainers and trained phlebotomists. You will learn how to smoothly draw blood, minimize hazards, and manage the patient’s reaction through a practical demonstration on a mannequin. In this taster workshop there won’t be any tile cutting (come to a Mossy Mosaic workshop at Arienas to learn this skill!) However, there will be lots of sticking and using small pieces, so it’s only suitable for those over 8yrs old (and all children must be accompanied/ helped by someone over 18).

Minerals are the basic building blocks of the solid Earth which when combined in different ways create many types of rocks. In this class, students discover where geologists find the majority of rocks and minerals, how they form, and how to identify them. Each lesson contains a hands-on activity demonstrating the concept taught. Field trips are planned for the Weis Science Museum and Planetarium and the Iron Mountain, Iron Mine at an additional cost.
