I first found my way on to a Yoga mat in 2000 and immediately became an addict. The gradual effects of including Yoga as part of my life has changed my body, physically and mentally... and my life. Up until the age of 18, my hobby was dance, particularly ballet and lyrical. I danced my way through the RAD grades to intermediate level enjoying competing in festivals. I left to study Human Behaviour in Manchester. My study of dance gave me a deep understanding of movement, muscles, balance and breath. My studies at University brought me a deeper knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, psychology and other aspects of human communication. After university, I found my way into the world of design, advertising and media and worked for agencies in the Midlands and Manchester in various roles leading design, marketing, media planning and buying teams. I believe that the universe has a plan for us and when life threw me lemons in 2014, I made the big decision to become a yoga teacher full time. Best lemonade I ever made! All the experiences of life up to that moment seemed to come together. And now I can comfortably draw upon the different movement practices and styles of yoga I have experienced and studied on my life journey, so my classes are always imaginative, varied, dynamic and energetic with a interest in alignment, strength building and the therapy/healing that comes from movement with the breath. I teach yoga to everyone; athletes, pregnant ladies, rehabilitation, beginners and more advanced yogis. I adapt the class to suit the group or individual and their personal goals. My teaching style is clear and informative but also fun and my classes are informal so students feel at ease and confident to explore their ability. I have a passion for sharing my understanding of the anatomy of yoga and the positive effects of using the breath to help manage stress and anxiety. I hope that my passion and dedication comes across to my students so they can also feel the incredible benefits of Yoga. Whilst my personal practice has spanned more than 20 years, I completed my original 200hrs Yoga training in 2013 and have since gained further qualification amounting to more than 500hrs in Yoga Therapy for stress, Yoga therapy for digestive health, Pranayama, Yin Yoga, Circular Flow, Pregnancy Yoga, and Yoga Nidra. I maintaining a regular personal practice with my own inspiring teachers. To deepen my knowledge of Yoga and movement practice I regularly attend workshops and CPD trainings.

Life hasn't been easy, i've been to the very lows but its all helped me grow as a person to where i am now. It has been incredibly tough, i knew it wasn't going to be easy but no one told me how hard it would be. I didn't do great at school, i only got 2 C's and nothing higher. I never let that hold me back as i was far to determined. When i decided i wanted to create my own Tumble Academy (as thats how it started) i put £500 of my saving into an account to create 'GymForce'. The website, insurance, leaflets and t-shirts. Why Gym Force? I feel like having a sport I adored help me so much in my adult life in many ways. I’m a very confident, motivated, ambitious person and I have gymnastics to thank for that. I would love for more children to have that in life. I feel like GymForce has a lot to give. As a small club we know everyone that walks through the door. We get complimented a lot on this. It’s more than just a club, we have/make time for each and every athlete, even their parents! I will continue to make personal little touches to my club that other ‘big’ clubs don’t currently offer. The Start of the journey... I started gymnastics when I was three, and I absolutely loved it. Especially floor! I just loved to tumble, that was my thing. As I got older I did more and more hours working my way up to club level. I felt that having gymnastics in my life helped me stay focused and on the right track when some of my friendship group didn’t. I wasn’t one to do well at school, reading and writing was not for me. I just wanted to be active all the time. So I had decided from a very young age that I would love to go into sports and coaching. I started coaching at 14 as a leader, it was great as I got to save money towards my first car.

Totally Holistic Health

totally holistic health

Holistic Therapist and Yogi - helping you achieve good health though natural therapies and Yoga. Totally Holistic Health was founded by myself, Julie Elder in 2005. I specialise in providing complementary therapy services.  These include Yoga, Bowen, Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy, Kinesiology,  Reflexology and Reiki.  I am based in Cheadle Hulme covering the North Cheshire and South Manchester area. I have always had an interest in Natural Health even from an early age.  After years of working in a corporate environment and seeing the stresses and strains it placed on the body, health and wellbeing I was confident that I needed a change of direction. The ideal opportunity came when my son started school.  This was when I decided to retrain as a therapist.  Within 6 weeks of starting my course I discovered I was pregnant with my daughter – who said that stress doesn’t affect fertility!! I completed the first year of my course, gave birth to my daughter in the summer and continued with the second year with baby in tow.  I still however managed to achieve a college award and distinctions in my HND in Health and Complementary Therapies.  The course gave me a fantastic grounding in all aspects of working in a therapeutic environment.  This included counselling skills; psychology; sociology; diet and nutrition; anatomy and physiology. I also became qualified  Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Swedish Massage and Indian head Massage. My knowledge and determination has never wavered.   I love learning new skills, therapies and gaining new knowledge. Since qualifying in 2005 I have become qualified as a Reiki master; Advanced Bowen practitioner; Baby Massage instructor; Kinesiologist to diploma level and also hold qualifications in Pregnancy Massage; Tibetan Acupressure Head Massage; Natural face Lift Massage and Mindfulness. I am also enhancing my lifelong love of Yoga and have trained as a Yoga Teacher to enhance the treatments I can offer you. Having recently seen the devastating mental health issues after two years of coronavirus and lockdowns I also wanted to offer a supportive service to help with this too so embarked on an amazing Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy course which I completed in 2022.  I am so pleased to be able this awesome modality to my therapy arsenal. Customer service is very important to me and I try to follow up each client’s treatment. Also maintaining and updating my training regularly helps me add additional skills and knowledge to help you receive the best help and advice I can give.

At this time two campuses serve the Tristate area, one in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey and another in Bronxville, New York. FlexSchool embraces students for who and where they are, then supports them as they learn to thrive. Small, ability and discussion based classes taught by subject experts ensure meaningful conversations and the opportunity to ask high-level questions. The faculty, trained and supported by learning specialists and mental health professionals, focuses on critical thinking in all areas of learning. Our Cloud Campus welcomes online students from around the world into live, discussion-based classes and our community, either full-time or part-time. FlexSchool has had great success with remote students from Florida, Washington, California, West Virginia, United Arab Emirates, Bermuda, and Switzerland among other places! back next History FlexSchool started to save one twelve-year-old girl. Jane loved to learn what she wanted to learn, and spent hours engrossed in videos and web pages about animals. She could tell you about muscle cells and animal anatomy. She researched Native Americans and made all of the games and weapons used by the Lenni-Lenape out of found objects and craft supplies. She spent hours drawing and painting and could write fiction better than most college students. Yet, she loathed school. She rarely spoke in class, dropped out of the gifted and talented program, either didn’t do her homework or would forget to turn it in. She had As on the tests and Cs and Ds in the class. Jane’s academic future looked dismal. Poor grades and high test scores are not a winning combination for college admission. Her public school was not the right place for her, but neither were the local private schools. Academically-oriented private schools do not accept students with poor grades. Schools that accept students with poor grades are not always academically rigorous. Stalemate. Until we started FlexSchool. Jane spent six years at FlexSchool, learned to love learning again, graduated in 2020, and attends a well-known liberal arts college studying anthropology, linguistics, map-making, and art.
