What is Mental Health First Aid? Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an internationally recognised training course which teaches people how to spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill health and provide help on a first aid basis. MHFA England training won’t teach you to be a therapist, but just like physical first aid, it will teach you to listen, reassure and respond, even in a crisis. Adult MHFA England courses are for everyone aged 16 upwards. Every MHFA England course is delivered by a quality assured Instructor Member who has attended our Instructor Training programme accredited by the Royal Society for Public Health, and is trained to keep people safe and supported while they learn. What will I learn? − A deeper understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect people’s wellbeing, including your own − Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues − Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress − Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening − Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to appropriate support.

Paediatric First Aid at Work RQF is training designed mainly for those who work with children in a childcare setting and include both children and infants. This course also awards the learner with 8 UCAS points.

Paediatric First Aid Paediatric First Aid at Work Two Day Course Cost:  £125 + vat per person This course has been developed for those who are working with children and infants. It will be of particular interest to teachers, child minders, crèche assistants, playgroup personnel and anyone else who has a responsibility for their welfare whilst in your care. The purpose of the qualification is for the learner to attain the knowledge and practical competence required to deal with a range of paediatric first-aid situations. This two-day qualification fulfils the requirements for first aid training detailed in the Department for Education’s statutory framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage.  SYLLABUS A range of subjects is covered, including: Role of the Paediatric First Aider Primary survey Resuscitation (CPR including the safe use of an AED) Wounds, bleeding and shock Allergic reactions including anaphylaxis Head, neck and back injuries Seizure Choking Minor injuries Recovery position Fractures Foreign bodies Diabetic emergencies Asthma Meningitis Febrile convulsions Extreme cold and heat Electrical incidents Maximum of 12 People Students must be a minimum of 16 years of age to qualify. Numbers A maximum of 12 students can be accommodated on this course. CERTIFICATION The qualification is valid for three years from the date of achievement. It is recommended that the learner attends annual refresher training. The learner will need to complete the full course again to re-qualify for a further three years. Our 6 hour Emergency First Aid at Work course gives the participant the knowledge, skills and confidence to deal with with first aid incidents in the work environment. Employers can book this course for their employees in the knowledge that they are fulfilling their duty to provide quality first aid training to their employees.

A relaxed, fun course covering the basics of first aid; CPR, Dealing with Unconsciousness and Dealing with Choking. This course is recognised as a refresher for all First Aid Qualifications and a chance to get together with other first aiders and discuss all things first aid. It is not the same as a requalifier. If your certificate is due to expire you must attend a full course.
