Duration 2 Days Validity 3 years Course Overview The Level 3 Award in Outdoor First Aid is a nationally recognized qualification designed for individuals involved in outdoor activities, such as hikers, outdoor instructors, adventure guides, or those working in rural or remote environments. This course equips learners with the skills and knowledge to handle a wide range of first aid emergencies that may occur in outdoor settings, often far from immediate medical help. The qualification covers essential life-saving skills and provides additional focus on dealing with environmental factors, remote access challenges, and prolonged patient care. Learners will gain the confidence to assess and manage emergencies until professional help is available, making it an invaluable asset for those working or enjoying activities in the great outdoors. What’s Covered Roles and responsibilities of an Outdoor First Aider Conducting an incident assessment in remote or outdoor environments Adult, child, and infant CPR & AED usage Managing unconscious casualties in outdoor settings Treating wounds, bleeding, and shock Managing fractures, sprains, and dislocations in the field First aid for head, neck, and spinal injuries Hypothermia and heat-related illness management Recognizing and responding to altitude sickness Administering first aid for burns, scalds, and frostbite Dealing with bites, stings, and poisoning Handling environmental exposure and prolonged patient care Incident reporting and casualty care in remote settings Entry Requirements Participants must be at least 16 years old on the first day of training. There are no formal entry requirements; however, learners should have basic literacy and numeracy skills, as well as a reasonable level of fitness to participate in practical exercises outdoors. Course Information Venue: All our 'Open' courses are delivered from our dedicated training venue: Pulse South Coast Ltd, Bentley Wildfowl, Harveys Lane, Ringmer, BN8 5AF On occasion we may use a separate venue, this will be advised on the course booking. Facilities: On your course you will be provided with tea & coffee making facilities and biscuits. We are in a rural location so we recommend brining lunch with you on the day. There is a microwave & fridge on site for your use. There is a garage that is approximately a 10 minute drive from our venue. Parking: We have a dedicated car park that is approximately a 300m walk to the training venue. There is no additional cost to use this parking. We accept no responsibility for any personal loss or theft while you are on our training courses or premises. Please ensure to keep your personal belongings safe at all times. What is required from you: All courses are delivered in English, you must have a basic understanding of the English language to attend. There is a requirement for you to show that you are capable of performing the skills you are taught on the course, due to this you will need to be physically able to demonstrate all practical elements of the course. Dress: As a company we pride ourselves on running immersive & practical training courses. You will often be expected to kneel & work outdoors, please dress appropriately. Identification: As we deliver Ofqual accredited courses, there is a requirement for you to show a form of ID on the first day of the course. This could be; a driving license, passport or something that clearly shows who you are. Timings: All of our courses have a minimum training time of six hours a day, we will often advertise a course as seven hours to include break times. On occasion it is required to go over the scheduled times, however this will always be discussed with the group on the day. Trainer: During your course you will have a designated trainer for the duration. They are there not only to assess for the qualification, but to offer you guidance and support throughout. Open course enabling either 1 day Emergency First Aid at Work qualification or 3 day First Aid at Work qualification. Full days session/s are required to ensure you complete and satisfy the trainer to pass the course. Certificate will be provided following full payment and attendance of course which you sign up for.  The 1-day Emergency first aid at work course is designed for first aiders working in small or low-risk environments. A 3-day First aid at work qualification is designed for larger or higher-risk environments and will include a wider range of illnesses and emergency situations.  Legal requirement advises that in workplaces of 5 or more people there should be a minimum of 1 fully trained First Aider on site at all times.

This ½ day course covers the role of the designated Fire Marshal. It will cover the following aspects: How fires are caused Understand fire and components of the fire triangle Fire Hazards and controlling fire hazards Fire and smoke speed Means of escape Fire detection and raising the alarm Fire signage Principles of extinguishing fires Safe use of equipment Firefighting systems Legislation and Fire risk assessment Role of a Fire Warden This results in an enthusiastic, accurate and above all professionally delivered fire marshal training course - our ethos of 'Training...
