dorset innovation hub

The hub is one of 4 newly designated Health Foundation Innovation Hubs in the United Kingdom. The innovation hub hosted by University Hospitals Dorset is overseen by a programme group of 13 partners: primary, community secondary and social care, academia, innovation, research, economy, industry and with patient and public involvement and engagement. Our small team support staff to use new innovations to support patients and our service users. Our vision is to establish the conditions to facilitate and sustain innovation adoption across the Dorset ICS Dorset for the benefit of our patients and service users. The hub draws on the respective partners experience and expertise as outlined by the Health Foundation to focus on the adaptation of innovation to the local context, using patient and public involvement and co-production principles to ensure that the process takes account of and is sensitive to the needs of patients, staff, existing culture and working practices

oasis southampton city farm

The Farm was formed in 1992 and was the amalgamation of Southampton City Farm and Millbrook School Rural Science Unit which became Down to Earth Farm. It has been a City farm since 1976, with a horticultural route for the site dating back to 1936. In 2008, Oasis Community Learning (part of Oasis Academy Lord's Hill), took over the running of the farm from Southampton City council. In 2020, the farm changed its name back to Southampton City Farm. The farm now tends to Approx. 1.2 hectares of workable land alongside the community building and other buildings which facilitate the programs we run throughout the week. The land is mostly devoted to grazing areas for the animals, with a horticultural area at the western end of the site, where we grow a diverse crop to feed the animals and to provide ingredients for the kitchen

the meadows farm village

The Meadows Farm Village is an interactive animal experience for all the family to enjoy. We welcome couples and friend groups too, so we are not just for children. Our Farm village can be booked for parties, groups and school visits and we can also offer exclusive use to our whole experience! We are situated on Gypsy Lane, Groeswen, Cardiff CF15 7UN. We specialise in offering a unique experience to interact with a mixture of farm animals. Our animal family includes meerkats, raccoon dogs, wallabies, reindeer, rabbits, guinea pigs, turkeys, chickens, ducks, peafowl, geese, swans, donkeys, alpacas, horses, cows, sheep, micro pigs, pygmy goats and emu.
