the thomas cranmer centre
Nottingham
The centre was completed in 2010 and is situated at the heart of the village
alongside St Thomas’ church and offers a large main hall with a high vaulted
ceiling, giving superb acoustics and a feeling of space. Aslockton’s unique
village hall is named after Thomas Cranmer who was born in the village in 1489
and who became the first protestant Archbishop of Canterbury, between 1533 to
1556, during the reigns of Henry VIII and Edward Vi.
