First-time Dreamweaver users may feel overwhelmed by the amount of options, panels and menus across the interface, but our Dreamweaver course will quickly familiarise you with the layout giving you access to advanced controls over CSS elements, and the ability to view how a webpage will look when displayed on different size device screens. Our one day Adobe Dreamweaver course will enable you to build and manage professional, well designed and standards compliant websites using the software. HTML and CSS concepts are covered.

Fused Glass Workshop – Glitzy Glass Jewellery I want to share my 15+ years of experience with you. This fused glass workshop is held at my Derbyshire studio and gallery space in the middle of Wirksworth, near Matlock. About this fused glass workshop Everyone loves sparkle and this workshop is perfect for making wearable art for yourself or to give as give away as gifts. After a brief introduction to how to work safely with glass, I will teach you the technique of cutting and layering sheet glass to produce your own unique creations. The process of cutting is a skill that takes time to develop but wonderful designs can be built from basic shapes. No experience necessary, just an understanding that you might not be “perfect” straight away. I’m told I make it look easy, but I’ve been doing it, almost daily, for 15 years! Produce a range of unique jewellery using specialist glass called Dichroic Glass, a rainbow of colours and a myriad of decorative inclusions, you will design and make jewellery pieces including pendants, earrings, cufflinks and brooches. Your creations will need to be fired, cleaned and finished by Stevie so will be ready in around three weeks. The materials cost will enable you to make at least 3 (maybe 4) pieces in the time, maybe more depending on your chosen designs and how quickly you work. Get to grips with this eye-catching leather (or pleather) long-stitch binding and have fun picking different coloured threads and decorative papers to give your book it’s own unique character.

About this fused glass workshop For this workshop I’ll give you a base piece of clear glass (precut and with a hole drilled (approx 30x5cm) for you to decorate with stripes of your favourite colours. I prepare lots of transparent glass to give you lots of strips to cut to length yourself. Build a design and layer as you like with extra textural details to really personalise your make. This is a great introduction to glass cutting, anyone can do it with the tips and tricks I’ll show you. The main thing to remember is to have fun! You will play with different types of decorative glass elements and learn a little about how the kiln firing will change them. Simply complete your design during the session and leave it at the studio for me to fire, clean and finish with a lovely ribbon, ready for you to display and enjoy. We will arrange for you to collect your piece after a few weeks or I can post your finished piece at cost. I will talk through all the Health & Safety in the session but I want you to know now, you will be handling precut glass pieces, they have pointy ends but with the right handling, they won’t hurt you. Fused Glass Workshop – Set of Trinket Dishes I want to share my 15+ years of experience with you. About this fused glass workshop Create a set of 3 mini dishes, a perfect size for a tealight candle or to store your earrings and rings. Make for yourself of to give as gifts. Explore two different design/construction processes and use precut tiles, rods and frit balls to create your designs. Can’t make the workshop? Explore a little in this short fused glass taster workshop and learn a little about how the kiln firing to 800 degrees c changes the raw/pointy pieces of glass to a have smooth, shiny finish. Fused Glass Workshop – Flower Garden Designs I want to share my 15+ years of experience with you. This fused glass workshop is held at my Derbyshire studio and gallery space in the middle of Wirksworth near Matlock. About this fused glass workshop Whether you create a design inspired by wild flower gardens, fields of Poppies, a layer of Bluebells or hills covered in Heather you’ll enjoy playing with glass shapes and textures to create your own abstract and colourful creation. Choose from 3 options of pre cut glass bases and create either a bowl, sculptural wave or hanging panel. Round Bowl – approx. 17cm. Wave – approx. 32cm across x 7 tall. Round Hanging – approx. 18cm Get making by snapping glass rods, sprinkling crushed glass frit and place frit balls for your colourful flower blooms. The main thing to remember is to have fun! Level 1 Workshop (F2F) The Level 1 Workshop is the starting point for your Makaton journey. It is recommended for people who need to use Makaton at home and in their work, to develop the communication skills of others. Content Level 1 training provides a practical introduction to the Makaton Language Programme and a wider understanding of learning and communication difficulties. The Level 1 Workshop include how to start using Makaton in everyday situations; immediate needs, home, familiar people, food, events, activities and objects. You will also discover hints and tips for effective signing and symbol use to maximise communication. Accessibility Please indicate if you have any challenges or additional needs, so reasonable adjustments can be made to support your learning and participation. Entry criteria There is no entry criteria for this Workshop Study materials You will receive a Participant's Manual, which includes the Makaton symbols and signs that you learn in the workshop. You will also be given a certificate of attendance. Please remember to keep your Level 1 training certificate in case you want to attend further Makaton training. After the workshop After completing Level 1 training you can continue on your Makaton journey by attending Level 2 training. Instructions This is a Level 1 course. The venue is easily accessible by public transport: close to Wimbledon mainline and District line. Also within reach from South Wimbledon Northern Line tube.
