What does this course cover? This five-day course covers a range of topics, all of which are covered via a mixture of theoretical and practical training – we aim for our courses to be as hands-on as possible. The course specifically covers: An introduction to SCADA systems, including elements, servers, hardware and software, tags, plus more. A range of systems including automatic control, FIELDBUS, and wireless communication systems. An introduction to serial interferences, ethernet networks, fibre optics, and wireless. Process variables Communications include case studies to establish communication with HMI (Siemens, Allen Bradley, and Pro-face) . Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Remote Terminal Units (RTUs), sensors and alarms. Introduction to OPC, covering how to configure OPC UA servers and how to program an OPC UA client. Client and servers development Connection management Security configuration Trends and historical data System components What will I gain from this SCADA HMI course? Upon successful completion of this course, candidates will gain a City & Guilds accredited certificate in Scada, HMI and communications.
This is a full 4 day course covering the requirements of commercial fire alarm systems to BS 5839 Part 1 2017 Code of Practice for Design, Installation, Commissioning and Maintenance of Systems in Non-Domestic Premises. This is one of the few externally examined Level 3 courses available and is supported by the Fire Industry Association (FIA) and Independent Fire Engineering & Distributors Association (IFEDA). All successful delegates will receive a EAL Level 3 Award in the Requirements of Fire Detection and Fire Alarm Systems for Buildings BS 5839-1:2017
Day 1 Solenoids and actuators, principles of operation and maintenance State precautions that may be necessary when removing cores from energised AC solenoids Transformers, sizing, applications and uses Heaters, applications, uses and safety precautions to be observed Temperature controllers, various types, principles of operation and uses Thermal sensors, various types, principles of operation and uses. Day 2 Proximity devices, limit switches and proximity switches, various types, principles of operation and uses Practical workshop, gaining an understanding of typical connections of various proximity devices and the range of available supplies catered for, voltage levels and current type Development of a typical simple control system using push buttons, proximity devices, relays and indicator lamps. Day 3 Protection against overcurrent Protective devices, various types, suitability and uses Earthing, including principles of protection against indirect shock Undervoltage protection. Day 4 Cable and core termination techniques, including crimping and soldering Practical workshop terminating YY, SY, SWA and MICC cable Testing, basic principles of circuit protective conductor testing and insulation resistance testing, instruments used and expected values Practical workshop testing cables terminated previously and testing cables with faults on test rig. Day 5 Fault finding, safety precautions and principles Practical workshop on fault rigs Root cause analysis PPM and maximising uptime
This course has been developed to give students a comprehensive, introduction to filmmaking. It is a creative, highly practical week in which the students form a film crew to make a short film from start to finish over 5 days. Our team are industry professionals who have extensive experience and lots of enthusiasm for working with students from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures. Our team all have enhanced CRB clearance and have undergone safeguarding training. Many of our students have been so inspired by their experience with us that they have gone on to a career in the industry and have returned to take part in an internship with us. This module aims to develop knowledge and understanding of customs procedures associated with international trade. The module includes trade agreements, tariffs and taxes, immigration, intellectual property rights, clearance procedures, transport regulations, sanitary and Phyto-sanitary measures, customs valuation, preference systems and anti-dumping measures.
The qualification is aimed at learners already working or preparing to work in industry that is identified within the company's risk assessment of First Aid. The qualification has a recommended course duration of 2 days; however the course duration may be increased to meet additional learning needs if required but not reduced.
