I am a 54 year old complete novice when it comes to drawing and painting. I recently visited the Classical Art Academy for a poetry workshop with Martin and poet Paul Canon Harris. We were able to follow Martin’s progress as he worked on a painting throughout the day, and shared his insights. It was fantastic day - fascinating, creative and inspiring. I've had a really amazing time in my first term at the Academy. I had just come off a term from another group that gave me a overview of various materials and techniques. However I felt I wanted to dive in deeper and get some more professional and in-depth instruction. I spent a month learning charcoal (new to me!) drawing and then moved onto oil painting (again new!) of still life subjects.
